Alkaloids not precipitating out when adding the lye - Easy Caapi Tek

So I am following the tek exactly.

I did the 3 boils on the 60 grams of Caapi.

I reduced it down to about 300ml

I then added 5g of lye to 50 ml of water and stirred it up and let it clear.

Then I poured that into the caapi and nothing happened. What is going on?

Anyone have any clue?

Can it be fixed?

omfg...I think I just ruined everthing...I'm sick over this....

yeah, while they were acified I was "washing" them and then getting rid of the "water" which I know now is actually the alkaloids.

So I have this glass jar in there will 2 distinct layers....and I thought the bottom layer was actually the alkaloids but that is actually just junk....

Don't beat yourself up too bad over this, things happen...it's part of the learning experience. On my very first rue extraction I added lye as though it were a dmt extraction. I had so much excess that I had undissolved lye in my precipitate. It was only as I stared at the undissolved lye/alks that I realized what I had done and reflected that a basic solution would have been infinitely more sensible. Beyond that, I was so green to all of this that rather than washing and washing and washing (or attempting to neutralize) or do anything to attempt to save my extraction, I just used the whole thing as drain cleaner

Thanks man, you are right, I definitely will not make this mistake again.

Oh well, I guess I need to start boiling some caapi today so I can get this going again.
