Anti-nausea medication for Iboga

Hello everyone :)

I just wanted to ask about taking these tablets (eg. Zofran in UK). I've vomited when taking as little as 1gr TA and a lot when taking more. I've never had any visions and I wondered if the reason was that I purged too soon-usually 5-6 hours later.

I've heard it's important to purge but I've also heard of providers advising taking some medication if you have a sensitive stomach.
I would like to hear from people who have done this and if they feel it helped or not.

Many Thanks,

BJH

Well i ran the Ginger teas through coffee filters, but really it didn't look like anything was filtered out, it appeared as if the grated Ginger root dissolved in the hot water.

And no, i've never tried taking the Harmalas and DMT at the same time. I've taken the DMT anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half after taking the Harmalas/Rue.

I've heard of diphenhydramine being safely used to treat nausea on iboga (effectiveness seems largely subjective, depending on person)

If this is turning into a general discussion of anti-nausea agents, I should mention that diphenhydramine has some SSRI activity and as such may interact badly with MAOIs and should not be taken with ayahuasca. When taking it with anything else, be aware that it can make you feel drowsy and groggy - if you plan to take it with any psychoactive, I would recommend trying it on its own first to make sure you tolerate these effects ok. Me and most of my friends find them quite unpleasant.

I'm interested in this ginger thing too. Looks like most of the scientific trials that demonstrated anti-nausea effects were using capsules of ground dried ginger root, so that may be one way to avoid any solubility issues - just eat the whole thing! The compounds (shogaols & gingerols) which are probably responsible for most of gingers medicinal actions, look to have low melting points (~30C) but very high boiling points (over 400C). So it's possible that they would just melt to become a liquid oily layer on the top of your cup of tea, without actually evaporating or being destroyed. Gingerols are heat sensitive, but the reaction is a weird reversible one, and since the compounds they convert to are shogaols which are probably also active anyway, that may not be a problem at all.

Try them together, I have found it works much better with pharmahuasca.

Right on, i'll certainly give it a try sometime and see how it goes. Today though i took a Rue full spectrum extract capsule and drank 20mls of a potent Mimosa and Acacia combo. I took the Mimosa+Acacia tea mixed with sweet black tea, 30 minutes after the Rue capsule and it seems to have worked awesomely.
