edit: For most of you, this guy comes off as pretty creepy. So lets use this thread to discuss the topic in general:

Are there any good Youtube videos? Should there be any DMT videos at all? What kind of communication would you deem as suitable for the mainstream?
 
Well propably not because he was selling:

Bud the Oracle detained by the state!
The allegation of heroin 'trafficking' turns out to be false, and the crown has stayed count 1 as a result! Bud was confident he was only selling purest DMT!

Cleverly and nastily though, as Bud was charged with heroin (a federal charge) and as he'd previously responded that he would continue to sell in the same manner (the day after his arrest) - he was detained without bail.

But at least he did it with the intent to spread love.

I think its important not to sanction inappropriate dmt videos, but also to support good ones...because people are starting to speak about it and you can't stop them.
 
I think, the government does restrict certain drugs, because they are easily controllable.
DMT is not easily controllable.
It is known to them anyway.

So, a couple of youtube videos won't do any difference, since the information is already out there.

So from the last update at his blog, March 25th, he is still in jail and is losing his place and all his belongings....or has lost them already perhaps?

Please correct me if I've got this wrong, and apologies to all concerned if I have, but it sounds like this Bud Oracle guy was selling DMT - he says so on his blog. As far as I'm concerned, that's not cool. This is what happens if you sell it; as far as the State is concerned, you're a drug-dealer, straight up, and society does not liek drug dealers. It's one thing to extract and use this molecule yourself - you have a moral argument. But selling it to make money is not 'spreading the love', it's fucked up and irresponsible. If you extract spice, you are responsible for every fucking grain of it, imo.

So no sympathy from me, I'm afraid.
 
Oh yes, it looks like he was very openly selling it, posting his address publicly and saying "Come here to buy...". If he was doing that in the States I think he would've been busted much sooner, I'm surprised he lasted a year. Shame he wasn't more careful, and I agree, the elves don't like Spice to be sold. Ironically with prohibition, young, irresponsible people have ready to access to most of the Schedule A controlled substances, while responsible adults interested in their scientific value who are not willing to source through the underground market do not have such ready access.
 
It seems, like he was some ort of an activist and he propably knew that he'd go bust. In one of his videos, he also talks about beeing sick so he propably saif "We'll i don't have much time anyways..so let's go down doing something I stand for"

He might have been inexperienced with DMT and I would subscribe to the notion, that sacred substances shouldn't be sold. But he was fighting for something he believed in...that demands respect.

Lets not forget, that his video doesn't reflect any of his selling behaviour and that's the reason I posted it here. I found more about him later, during my search for more information regarding this person.
 
Is it only me or this old dude in the video looks totally burned out? He looks damn dirty and miserable, he's not very articulate and sounds like a psychedelics casualty.

I'd never take this guy seriously if I were your average mainstream guy.

I second that, I dont know what was good about this video this dude is quite weird imo...
 
I couldn't watch the whole vid due to him moving constantly. I don't know if this will have a positive effect on dmt's image...

Alright, what do you think about it in general? I mean respectful videos showing how one can benefit from it? I personally don't like the idea of spreading the word via youtube, but it could become necessary if slander was to prevail.
 
youTube seems to me to be mostly made up of third rate bullshit slung together for nothing or for free. It is 'The Home Movie' channel.

People generally look like tits and know fuck all about how to make an argument or tell a compelling story using the audio-visual medium. They are by definition, amateurs. If you want to make a point about DMT, putting some homemade bollocks on youTube is precisely the worst thing to do.

The good stuff on youTube is generally either expensive 'viral' advertising, or trails for programmes by very large media organisations who put a lot of money and expertise into programmes.

People watch TV programmes or documentaries and think, 'oh hey, I'll do that'. If you shoot it on your iPhone, it's going to look like you've shot it on your iPhone and that is the equivalent of coming to the indie 500 on a tricycle.

I'm sure there will be exceptions - there always are - but imo filming yourself blasting off or coming back from hyperspace is not going to do anyone any good, seriously. If we want to nake an argumetn to make this acceptable by society, that is not the way to do it.

Well, I believe that he's a happy person and he has found enlightenment and that psychedelics are a helpful tool in life etc etc etc. All that is good and his intentions are also honest but he comes out as "damaged".

I was discussing similar behaviours with a friend of mine recently, it seems as if people who overabuse (any) drugs develop some tics, and this is quite disturbing to see. This is the first thoughts that come into my mind after watching him. He's nervous, walks back and forth and has problem taking his thoughts out of his mouth.

On the other hand, Strassman comes as an educated person who one could easily take seriously. Same goes for Shulghin, Nichols, Grof and few others, even Joe Rogan. Others sound as if they are losing it a bit (or not holding it too firmly!) like Terrence McKenna and Paul Stamets (with the exception of his TED presentation, all Stamets talks sound as if he's tripping - he's an awfully horrible presenter). And in the end of the spectrum there are people like Bud that sound "damaged"

So basically it's all in the presenter, irrespective of whether it is Youtube or any other medium. Some people do good presenters and some people do bad presenters. And in presentations loads of things can make the difference.

That'S interesting, because i havn't got the feeling. If you would hear me talk, you'd propably think I'm damaged by 100x. I also don't think that mckenna is loosing it it in any way. In my view, Speakers like Rogan or other people who are deeply involved in mainstream culture come off as agressive persons.

Communication is difficult.
 
I dont think its a good idea to post DMT vids on youtube period. Well intentioned or not, you tube is a main stream portal..some dumb kid is gonna see it, find the nexus, extract his stuff and do something asanine..On the other hand,,someone smart will see it and open the right doors..however, i dont think it worth the risk..I mean, would you stand on the street corner in NYC and tell random people about DMT?? Same concept I believe..

Apologies to you, Obliguhl - but I just found that video to be really foul and creepy, and perusing his blog afterwards didn't change my initial impression. I'm not even going to address the repulsive eyeball painted growth on the top of the dude's head, but this is an individual who definitely appears to be damaged and fairly imbalanced. He sure ain't any kind of appropriate liason to the straight community, IMO - unless of course you want the entire world thinking that all DMT users are marginalized, shifty looking weirdos with weed hats and pending court cases.

As far his selling anything goes - I mean, come on - he's doing it to spread the love??? If you sell DMT, you are a profiteer, plain and simple - just another cog in the wheel of prohibition. If you want to turn on the world for free (which I still think is kinda tacky), then so be it. Sell it, and you deserve whatever state sanctioned punishment you get.

I've got zero sympathy for this turd, and I think his videos are as offensive as the rest of em.

To me he seems like a middle aged blue-collar sort of person who has found a purpose in life. He's not a media pro and that shows. I wonder how much 'better' anyone here would come across in a 'crappy youtube vid'.
