Ayahuasca at Festival

Hi,


I have taken pharhuasca about 10 times and about 1/2 of them were at raves or parties. I take around 100-130 mg and have always had an amazing social experience when doing it in public. I am going to a big festival tomorrow with a date that wants to do it with me. She is experienced with ethogens. We're getting there around 2pm and plan on doing it then. She weights 130 lbs. I want to make sure she know what the fuzz is about but to stay in control. Any suggestions on does would be appreciated.

If she hasn't drank aya/pharma before I would say she should try it at home first. If you do decide to take it in public then have a sober sitter (or 2) with a car in case anyone gets uncomfortable and needs a private space.

Absolutely agree with elru, you do not want MAOI complications in a public/festival environment. Everyone reacts differently
to doses of pharamahuasca..the thought of ayahusca health scares at raves hitting the press would be disturbing!
Also, many people feeling overwhelmed by an entheogenic experience, would feel uncomfortable in a busy social setting.
..i've heard some painful & sad stories from people encouraged to first smoke dmt on the edge of a dancefloor...

I have to agree as well.

For some people pharma works the first try, no complications but a lot of people have to do a lot of variation in order to get the dosage right. With her never trying it, no one knows how sensitive she is to it. It would be way to easy to get a freak out dose on it's own, not even considering the environment.

Since you don't have the time to test the waters in a proper set and setting so you can ease her into it the right way by starting off small and tweaking the dosage... I'd suggest smoalking some changa with her instead of the pharma.

This way if she gets freaked out it will only be 20min vs 2 or more hours.

Dang man, definitely low dose it. I am heavy and if I took 100mg of pharma, I don't know if I'd be able to stand. How the hell can you take 300mg in public? Dang. If she's never taken before, 30mg will probably make her have to sit down and want to fall asleep for 45 minutes.

Anyway, I agree with others, you should try it in private before trying in public. If you don't know how you're going to react, then you've gotta be careful and dose low. Even 20mg have provided some really great reality altering experiences for me.

- I would have to say that i think that this is not a good idea for her, especially if she's never done pharmahuasca before. As the saying goes when dosing on new compounds , " start small, in the right mindset, in the right setting ".

- I really don't think a festival is the right place for Ayahuasca at least for a first timer. I think it deservs to be treated with more respect than this IMO.

Well definately don't introduce her it to it that way or start with a low low dose if you choose it to be there. There are different sorts of people, but for most a party is one of the WORST places to take pharmahuasca, so if you have enjoyed it at a party, there's still more likelyhood for somebody else not liking it that way. Think three times before even considering giving a low dose.
Anyway, do you think it would be less good to introduce her to it for example in nature or inside apartment? I definately don't. Ask her how she feels about the location, not us.

If you two do partake, make sure to create a safety zone
inside your tent to retreat to if necessary.

Also, stay hydrated.. maybe pick out a spot in a shade,
if possible.

In what form are you taking the pharma? In other words, are you using extracted harmalas or rue in gel caps/caapi as tea? Are you using DMT freebase or DMT-fumarate? Do you tend to get nauseous from pharma, and if so, how do you deal with that in the public setting? Also realize that if you don't get nauseous, some people are more resistant to the nausea than others even when diets, and doses are held constant, so just because you (hypothetically) don't get nauseous, doesn't mean that she won't turn violently nauseous. I've only taken pharma at a concert once, but I had a sober driver, and I made sure to time it so that I took the pharma at the house before the concert, leaving myself some time to come up and puke and then go to the show. The whole thing is so iffy and unpredictable with pharma that while it could produce sublime experiences in public settings, there are so many factors that could contribute to complications that you really have to wonder if it's worth it. Not to mention as was mentioned above that as compared with other psychedelics, pharma has the uncanny ability to make many people sleepy as hell. Also make sure your girlfriend is well-informed that once she's committed to taking pharma, that she should accept no other drugs at the rave/party other than MJ probably because if anything is MDMA or an MDMA derivative or cut with MDMA, then you have some serious problems on your hands.
