Baking Soda

Hey guys... I have a bit of brown/yellow dmt that I have saved up separate from my white/yellow stuff.

CAN, and HOW, do I go about washing this stuff with baking soda

EDIT: Okay from what I gathered I can use Baking soda but I just have to use a little more because its bicarb and washing soda is sodium carb...

But I have another question...

Can I do this wash with alcohol instead of naphtha?

I have 95% grain alcohol that I could dissolve the dmt into and then separate and freeze precipitate using alcohol?

Hello.

I would stick with the naphtha. It's a proven solvent.

Warming it up and swirling/mixing in your decant jar/flask will break everything down and when it cools, the heavier particles will settle to the bottom, leaving you with a purified solution you can decant into another jar/flask. Then you can evap or freeze precip.

Depending on the color, might have to do this more than once, but really should be fine one time.

Happy explorations! :)

You could always do a recrystallization. This is by far the easiest way to purify. Just dissolve your base in a minimal amount of hot naptha and let it slowly come to room temp, the slower the better. Then put it in the freezer. Filter and you should have nice white crystals.
