Hello fellow Nexians! I've been a member of this unique and amazing community for over a year now, but I never did an introduction essay. So now I'm writing one, mostly because I just want to properly introduce myself, but also (perhaps more importantly) because I want you guys to gain a little insight into who I am and what I stand for. I feel that understanding and familiarity are important in a community such as this.
Even at a young age, I realized that the one person I know the least is myself. I've always been very interested in figuring myself out, finding what makes me "tick". I didn't know anything about altered states of consciousness until I was 15 (and I'm almost 20 now), when I first started smoking cannabis. I was fascinated by the level of thinking I achieved after smoking large amounts of weed by myself (enough for a level 2 experience on Leary's scale). I learned a lot about myself this way, the most important of all being the fact that I didn't know NEAR as much as I thought I knew about myself, life, and the world around me. I felt humbled by this fact, and I had never felt humbled this way before in my life. Of course, this crushed any belief I had in the anti-drug propaganda they teach in school (lol... "DARE"). This drove my curiosity up the wall, naturally. Suddenly, talks of mushrooms and LSD among my friends became apparent to me, whereas before I guess I more or less ignored it, for lack of a better word. But at this point I thought psychedelics were a fun recreational thing for those who simply want to see pink elephants and laugh. It wasn't until 3 years ago that I learned otherwise.
One night, I was talking to a friend on Facebook. Somehow DMT was brought up, which I had never heard of before. (Which I thought was ridiculous!) As he was explaining what it is and what it does, he directed me to Erowid. I was familiar with Erowid, but I had only used it to research weed alternatives in the past. I never paid much attention to psychedelics then. Anyway, as you know, that first DMT trip report is likely to top any story you've ever read before. I quickly realized that psychedelics were much more than I had previously thought. From that point on I read extensively about psychedelics, and came to the conclusion that they are the best thing for introspection and self-analysis, but also that they are a means, not an end. I learned that they should be respected, and used responsibly.
Eventually, after looking for mushrooms or acid and having no luck with it, I decided my best bet would be ayahuasca. I was more than a little intimidated by it, but after joining this community I was told that it's the best thing for introspection. The same Nexian who told me this had drank ayahuasca as his first psychedelic and had a rough first trip, but then tried again the next day at half the dose. That determination inspired me to finally go through with it, despite my fear. I have never been so satisfied with a decision before in my life! (Thanks Friken!)
Anyway, that was a year ago, and I haven't tripped on anything since (besides very mild aya and freebase "experiments" at small doses). Not until recently have I really felt the urge to experience that profundity again. I have two pulls of DMT-saturated naphtha evaporating right now, and I plan to achieve my first breakthrough on the same day as my first aya trip on the 29th of this month. Of course, I plan to familiarize myself with the effects of sub-breakthrough freebase and aya/pharma -huasca before then.
Pure NMT interests me as well, and I suppose I'll take this opportunity to ask what the best way of getting pure NMT is. CO2? Aspirin? I don't want this to detract from the rest of this post though.
