Best Lighting for Spice?

Migrated topic.

Hey Nexus:)
Im finally preparing for my first spice breakthrough today. Just wanted to ask a few questions about setting.
What about lights in the setting? On or off?, I have plenty of lamps for indirect light, and one dim ceiling light.

And what about candles and Music? How will they impact my experience?

im confident in my mind setting. thanks in advance:d

darkness. quiet. listen closely to the operational noises of yourself and the universe. tune in.
a candle far from reach can be nice.
sunshine in your face is also nice.

leave your body behind.

press your palms.

go bye bye.

i like to do it in the afternoon with some ambient lighting. not having light come from one exact source. then when i go into "the space" i usually have my eyes open and the visualization that takes over is brightly colored then. if you get it good enough it wont matter if your eyes are open or closed. you'll be gone just the same. good vibes friend...

light- i personally LOVE going in the sunshine. my visions are so much brighter. that being said, i just had an absolutely mind-scrambling journey laying in my bed in the darkness last nite so.....

if you smoke enough, it won't really matter. the only thing that DOES matter is that YOU are comfortable. tucked in bed at night, on your back in the grass in the daytime.....whatever is going to help you feel the greatest ease in surrendering all that you "think" you are.

as for music- my first handful of journeys back in the day involved music. my first breakthrough was listening to yungchen llamo's "happiness is". the first harmonic opening that song is enough to send me into hyperspace every time i hear it now! the best part of it was that i had NEVER heard that song before i went. after that journey i experimented with other music i had heard before only to find that a tiny part of my mind would latch on to it and use it to anchor itself. spice is about the unknown and the truly sacred sensation of flowing in an infinite sea of unknowingness. a piece of music that comes highly recommended (or maybe just listen to the first few moments to make sure it has the right "feel" ) is preferrable in my expereince to something that your mind is going to be able to hold on to just as it is so beautifully melting away.

just my two cents. i go in silence 99.999999% of the time now. once in a great while i'll find myself going into a new piece of music recommended by a friend...but even then i don't like to have my journeys guided or limited in any way.... i guess in a very long-winded way i'm saying that it's my opinion that WITHOUT tunes is better.

there. i said it.

imsmilingwide....good name...you may wind up changing it to ismiledsowidemyfacesplitinhalfandtheuniverseateit after you journey... ;) can't wait to hear about it!!

LOVE AND GRATITUDE!!

Darkness and silence was the approach that I took. This didn't last though, my senses were filled with the whole spectrum of color while hearing much singing and laughter. I'm not an experienced user by any means, but from my one time it would seem that you're sent to a place that will provide its own light and sound. Happy travels :D

Almost dark room, just a little light peaking in from a source, maybe a candle, maybe just a street light through a small gap in your curtain. But summer is on its way soon, I hope. So the direct light might become part of my travels for this coming summer.

I prefer total silence for my journey, sounds can alter a jurney in a big way, sounds become part of a journey(to an extent that ive noticed). But all of this is sumthing you will most likely figure out on your own:)

yeah, i go no music and complete silence myself. you'll find that when you get in there, there may sometimes be music or a certain sound unfamiliar to you and special to your new environment.

Sound, I don't even want to know what that would be like. Once a friend of mine hit the bong as I put it down (he didn't know I meant it when I said 'do nothing'). The sounds totally looped and became integrated on a level that was too weird. Once when it was raining, it sounded like it was happening IN MY HEAD. I guess it is, really, but it was too intense.

I am deaf in one ear, so sound is a big thing for me, I'm very sensitive.

As for light. I like a dark room, balanced, clean and tidy. I keep one light (orange) on at the end of the apartment. Everything becomes so bright :)

Swim like it one of two ways.

1. Very bright room light music with no real surprises in the tune although sometimes prefers no music.

2. Pitch black darkness laying down with eyes closed complete darkness. Anything in between makes the trip seem sort of drab and lacking of something.

When its bright the visuals tend to be bright and fast especially with music. Music can be interesting too as you can more notice time distortions. In the dark the visuals tend to be slower but more intricate. The silence is great because you can tune into the subtle sounds of the trip and even sometimes manipulate them mentally.

my pilot's chair is in a big bay window, and outside is a small bush with sparrows. When they sing, I go In. Curtains closed, one or two small candles. Sweet as a nut

I like all different lighting. One thing I just tried was complete darkness with eyes open. It made me feel like I was floating in space. I knew where the walls were but because I couldn't see them my mind made up intense geometric structures.
