Recently I've found a variety of nuciferine, blue lotus full spectrum and ratio blend extracts.
I have taken to filling capsules with 0.2g of a mix made from 20g of >10% assured full spec, and 20g of unlabelled full spec, and 0.15g max from 20g 80% nuciferine lotus extract

Blue Lotus contains nuciferine and apomorphine:
Nuciferine = D4 agonist, D2/D5 parital agonist, DAT inhibitor, antipsychotic, antagonist of 5-HT7 and psychedelic receptors 5-HT2A/B/C (trip calmer?), agonism of HT1A and HT6
Apomorphine = D1/D2 agonist, adrenal betablocker, antipsychotic, antiaddictive / parkinsons treatment

Contraindications of blue lotus extracts containing nuciferine and apomorphine include taking alongside prescribed beta blockers - dangerous drop in blood pressure. I have both and know well not to mix but that both are effective in life

Glaucine is another aporphine compound found in yellow horned poppy or other Glaucium species across the world, this appears to be a opiate-like sedative psychedelic
It is a dopamine receptor antagonist, favouring D1, adrenal receptor antagonist (betablocker), psychedelic - 5-HT1A, 5-HT2A/C, 5-HT7 agonism/partial agonism, MAO-A inhibitor

The effects to explore of the lotus are welcomingly positive so far with my use of blue lotus extracts, like that of a betablocking stimulant that has a subtle psychedelia which potentiates other substances staggeringly powerfully. The same can be said from all I have heard of glaucine, being a dissociative psychedelic working on traditional HT2A receptors. On its own it has a sedative, waking dreamlike trip. Blue lotus is also used as a oneirogen. Another similarity to harmalas, glaucine is an MAO-A inhibitor, making any other seretogenic more potent and longer lasting. Though it is only moderately partial and without MAO-B.

I can only picture blue lotus having a synergistic effect with glaucine, so far it atleast has been immensely effective. My only worry is this is strong stuff already in the lotus family, nuciferine / apomorphine etc. between 80-120mg delivers a powerful effect, and can interact dangerously with things. Comparing a similar dose of glaucine, the moderate MAO-A inhibition is more likely also to have the same severe interactions with many medications or substances to any harmala alkaloid, including tyramine hypertensive crisis from cheese. Potentiation this way when in full can lead to week long trips. MAO-A inhibition is also what is required for DMT to become orally active. There is a lot of promise here I think in a seemingly unexplored aporphine form of harmala-type compound.

Another key consideration is also that, many reports from glaucine experiences are negative or challenging experiences. As a dopamine antagonist, it is reported to feel dysphoric. With little more known information, this appears to be a challengingly sedative, dissociative and dysphoric experience. Theoretically, could this still function as the MAOI in ayahuasca or pharmahuasca blends? With respiratory risks carried by depressants/sedatives, this is not something to consider lightly.

A local source of Glaucium Flavum, and a place where commercial blue lotus is grown.

Have you ever made your own extracts? And if so, may I ask your technique?
Of specifically lotus? Nothing relating to any level of compound isolation. I'm lucky that where I live, an oz of various versions of standardized lotus extract can be bought legally from a couple businesses, even including pure nuciferene which I have a sample of. If I could grow or find yellow horned poppy wild around here, that is possible

Way back in the day I had a few ziplock pillows full of blue lotus flower heads. I used to boil 4-8g of flower material straight in a cup of water on a gas cooker, strain and drink the tea. If drank under effects of no other substance, with pauses for tolerance, I found this to be a very subtle psychedelic. Shadows became rolled in inky blue, black and brown. Especially in a darkened room and in this format, this preparation consistently lead to a floral, earthy psychedlia and euphoria that felt like taking a sip from or dipping only the toes into a full psychedelic experience. Proper visuals would completely evade focus though - distortions/enhancements of colour, and anything conforming to patterns would be kept only to peripheral vision / where one was not focused, but the shadows did glow with an earthy, flowery colour of patterns

Non-lotus extracts... I have done the rounds producing crude and advanced extracts of ergot, and produced LSA/LSH and other adducts from that chemistry many years ago.

I have recently been in the business of making botanically fortified alcohol also with damiana, klip dagga, lotus etc

I also just made my first post, a TEK I'm drafting for freebasing DPT. If you had any feedback on that before I go ahead with it, I'd be grateful :)

Sorry man, I've never tried freebasing DPT. I got my hands on it once probably 20+ years ago, and I did an intramuscular injection of I forget how many mgs, but it was quite the wild ride... complete sensory close-out for well over an hour during which time I met the souls of unborn children and re-visited the supermarket my parents used to take me to when I was a toddler. 😵‍💫 When I was coming down, I felt/heard low frequency vibrations coming out of the Earth that I had never encountered before.... Yeah – you're in for quite the trip!

Nice thread, although I'm not so keen on screenshots like that simply because it's not possible to copy text from them easily.

I was a bit of a fan of pink lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) stamens quite some years ago when they were easily obtainable. I'm pretty sure they contain nuciferine as well. And do note the spelling there - I've edited the title of this thread correspondingly to stop my eye from twitching so much ;)

Could you say more about this experience, perhaps in a different thread? It sounds quite similar to a pharmahuasca experience I had that I found quite shocking.

Also mentioned here:

Just adding I have experienced glaucine now at 120mg.

I can say it was gently euphoric, with great appreciation of nature. No true visuals, but a very psychedelic headspace. A lot of yawning. I would compare it to aged HBWR seeds, as in pure LSA on its own. The lack of visuals, long duration, stony euphoria, yawning, and the psychedelic enhancement of nature appreciation wind up having a lot in common with HBWR.

Sounds interesting, never heard of this poppy ...lemme git summm🫪
Glaucium Flavum is my local one, which grows absolutely everywhere, and I mean everywhere. Just, only on the shore - never inland. There are also more species for very different parts of the globe, but even this species is in dozens of countries, France, italy, bulgaria etc. Yeah everywhere

"It is found in North Africa, within Macaronesia, Canary Islands, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia and Morocco. Within Western Asia it is found in the Caucasus, Georgia, Cyprus, Egypt (in the Sinai), Lebanon, Syria and Turkey. In eastern Europe, it is found within Ukraine. In middle Europe, it is in Belgium, Germany, Netherlands and Slovakia. In northern Europe, in Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Sweden and United Kingdom. In south-eastern Europe, within Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, Sicily and Malta, North Macedonia, Romania, and Slovenia. In southwestern Europe, it is found in France, Portugal and Spain."

I am planning soon to go find some. I know of many places here I've been to many times where it grows, infact I think I have a picture of some from when I took mescaline and psilacetin on the beach. Speaking of that, I think my next plan is for the glauvent I have to potentiate a mescaline experience although, I will get to that at some point

Would love to make an alcohol with becherovka using foraged yellow horned poppy, blue lotus, damiana and klip dagga too. A good shot of 40ml or so, a nice botanical apertif fortified with another blend of seretonin affecting compounds, terpenes, harmala-likes, caffeine etc. That could take the edge off the nausea, and also massively potentiate any trip. Dang, that followed by cactus over the morning / afternoon. Or if you could ever add an amberglass ampule of LSA into some of that... :alien::alien::alien::alien:
