SWIM is going to order some caapi leaf to make Changa. Haven't made it before so any advice would be appreciated. A couple questions though.

What kind should one get? (Yellow, white,black,....) And what is the difference between these?
Would it be better to get extract to save some time and effort?

Ive only ever come across yellow and hawaai leaves. Ive never found much difference between the two, but if you know of a vendor thats selling black leaves, give us a link pls. I have never worked aith any black caapi, so would like to start with the black leaves.

Saving time and effort does the journey not much good, I love shaking, talking and mixing my caapi/chali extract daily, and when the time comes to smoke em, it feels so much more rewarding.

Is it better to get an extract? Hmm not sure if better is the right word. Those 10x and 50x caapi extracts are soo difficult to disolve in solvent, so when yout Changa is dry and you have scraped it up, all the the extract settles at the bottom of the container that im storing it in. Better keep those 10/50x vendor sold extracts for oral administration.
One could take some harmalas and add them in there without the caapi leaf, just use some sort of other leaf, but Caapi leaf is where its at IMO. You could just make your own 10/20x ala Dorge, this is where the full effect of Changa are felt.

The world of Changa blends is endless, you just gotta start small and see what suits your needs.

Happy infusing:)

Thanks for the info Gammagore.

Yah, this site www.tranceplants.net has 3 kinds of caapi including black. SWIM bought some lime from them and service was good so he's going to buy a bunch of stuff.

So, extracts (in your opinion) are good for oral administration? Or for adding to other herbies(ex. blue water lilly)? So straight yellow leaves are potent enough to extend the duration of the spice?

Again, thanks a bunch.

I keep any caapi 10x/50x vendor extracts for oral administration.

The caapi leaves will not only extend the journey a bit, but will change it too. Caapi leaves have their own quality to add.

And that site, thanks but they dont have any leaves, I was under the impression you found black caapi leaves:)

Oops, sorry. So they just sell the vines, not the leaves I guess. If the leaves are good for smoking, what are the vines good for then? Making tea?

Ya vine is best for tea and leaves are better for changa. But I have used 10x vine in some of my changa blends. It was wonderful. :d
