Even though this doesn't look too aesthetically pleasing, I am sure it works just as well as the normal machine.

If you're interested in an easy way to break off a bottom of a bottle quite cleanly and straight without any tools, check this video out:

I used to break bottles like that all the time for the fun of it and if you do it well enough you can break off a perfectly round circle from the bottom.
