Changa Hangover?

I recently made a small batch of changa and its roughly a 1:1. Last night I went for it and it was great really smooth deep heavy hits. Like most sessions I did not plan on doing it for hours but it happened and today I just feel worn out. Maybe its an emotional drain maybe its sleep quality? I ended up getting 6 hours so pretty normal amount of sleep. Any of my fellow voyagers get exhausted after a long run with Changa or for that matter Maoi and Dmt? Look forward to your responses.

Changa and I don’t get along. I get a fever a few hours after smoking. The first few times I thought I had the flu but it definitely corresponds to smoking changa. Through a bunch of trials I’ve decided that it’s burnt DMT that gets me. DMT enhanced leaf produces the same symptoms.

I’ve looked a bit but haven’t read of anybody else having this issue. Maybe it is just me...

I love the changa experience up until the sick part. I’ve have had success with dissolving DMT and harmalas in ethanol (leaving out any herbs), letting the alcohol evaporate and scraping up the goo to put in the emesh. Works great at giving the changa experience and no fever.

previously I had just had two atomizers and just swapped between Harmaline freebase and DMT.
Good idea with the enhanced vape.

I've only experienced Changa, Changa with DMT sandwiched, and a vape pen. I always feel washed out the day I do it. Sometimes even the next day. It's not horrible or anything, just mentally kinda empty and physically tired. However, I recharge and always end up feeling better than before I did the deems. It has a kind of antidepressant effect ultimately.

Any psychedelic could give you a hangover. There are so many factors involved that it may be easier to pursue a unified theory of physics instead.
Even if your changa is clean, some extra smoke can wreck your system if it is a wrong day for you. Further, look at the Western diet and what many consider food nowadays. If you eat some premade frozen dish and drink a Coke to help it go down, I would not be surprised that you have some issues with your body. The same applies to the environment people live in - city life is as far as it gets from our nomadic roots. Basically, it's a wonder that we live as long and are relatively healthy, considering environmental degradation and constant informational stress from this so-called civilization. Drink some water, take a nature walk, and thank God that something like changa is present in your life at all. Just a rant. Stay strong and healthy 🙏

It’s not uncommon to feel a bit of a hangover from changa. In my experience, inhaling combustion products of any kind isn’t very kind to the body, and almost certainly will cause me some discomfort in the upcoming day. Also, when I use it right before going to sleep, my brain often isn’t fully ready to transition into proper sleep. In my experience, that can definitely lead to feeling a bit “off” or more tired the next day.

It might be a good idea to explore a different way of using DMT, something like a vape with sublingual harmalas works wonders.

Good luck

Thanks for the replies, I think that I just didn't sleep well and was exhausted emotionally. I spent the day taking care of myself (gym) and doing some reflections and integration. @northape I think we are on the same page about the western diet and its effects on the body and mind.

You'll maybe want to take a look at the posts of a certain @Espurrr to follow up on @northape's commentary.

Next time I have an important item of household goods to purchase I'll be sure to smoke some changa immediately beforehand and report back ;)
