Changa Hangover?

This is such a vague statement you might as well elaborate. What do you do to get your body and mind on the same wavelength with harmalas?
I said what I had time for in the moment, oh king and arbiter of vagueness. šŸ˜‚

I find harmalas to be very subtle in effects and alterations. When we are immersed in their space more often, we are able to notice the myriad of effects and alterations such that we respond to it differently. So it's about being with them more, but not passively so. I say this as someone that used to get very nauseated and anxious from harmalas. But I've spent a lot of time meditating and working with harmalas alone to the point that they don't cause those effects for me anymore.

Smoked some changa yesterday from a batch I had previously smoked twice (and those were longer/harder sessions). For about 3 hours afterward I had a nice energy boost/glow and then things just crashed on me: started with a severe feeling of depletion/exhaustion then flu-like symptoms of severe body ache, nausea, fever/chills. I went to sleep at 7pm and suffered discomfort with more fever/chills/nausea through the night and into the morning. Lasted till about 9am and now I'm fine.

So, for sure, changa related.
From a batch I had previously smoked with no issue.
I am now terrified of the batch, which is a huge shame for several reasons.
This piques my curiosity. The duration and severe symptoms sound like a contraindication. With that consideration, what may have been in your system in this instance that wasn't in you system in the other instance?

In the interest of you having an extension of some aspect of the molecule after the experience, was there any content from the journey time that may connect or relate to your experience after?

Appreciate that response. To the first question, of course there are always so many variables with our bodies and our consciousness that it can be difficult to answer that correctly. But i live a rather stable, healthy, conscious, and slow life on an island, so there's not a lot of huge variances that could account for the experience. Regarding the second question, no not really. I do a lot of meditation and a lot of psychedelics, so I'm not generally dealing with any major emotional issues or having any unexpected journeys/experiences.

Any other pharmaceuticals? Any SSRIs? Just exhausting options.

And it doesn't have to be major or seem major to be part of some phenomenon, whether it's just the system process, or some esoteric layer peeling away.

All said with love and consideration.

I had another terrible hangover from changa but it was self induced, I had not planned on doing any and I had a benzo earlier before bed and that just lit my fire and I smoked changa and vaped freebase for 4 hours. had a very strange purge like reaction that felt good but it was a first for me and I will not soon forget it due to its gray day the following day was terrible like I was still sick. I will never do that again.

no other pharms. no SSRI's.

I hear ya. thus the complexity of modern living.

Also, @Pyramids do you smoke anything else? In the sense of, are you used to inhaling smoke? I'm not, so I always felt "off" after smoking changa for more than a day. Now I just vape DMT e-juice and add oral harmalas if I want that component.
thanks blig-blug, that is certainly part of the issue. I don't smoke anything else. it does affect my lungs in an unpleasant way.

Hmm, makes me wonder if the old stainless steel wire wool in a glass pipe sprinkled with Spice and Harmalas would be a better way to inhale the combo without the herbs / smoke.
I'm personally not an enjoyer smoking. But Changa is an interesting experience so I'm going to persevere.
