I always find it amazing how most of the religious people practice the exact opposite of what they preach. And when you point this out to them they get angry while, if they would really mean anything they say, should be gratefull instead.
Reason is powerless against hypochrisy.
There's no batle to be won.

There's all sorts of christians, me and suicybe being two of them.

I'm also a Taoist and a Buddhist... and hell I'll be a jew too, why not!?
 
I have nothing against christians, generally speaking. But if you try to convince the doom-preachers (you know, those who want to occupy the entire middle-east, kill all the arabs,infidels, homosexuals, marihuana-smokers and many others) to be nice, you're wasting precious time, precious oxygen, life-energy and probably some real important things i forgot to mention.

as for my non drug using depression coatl, it sucked, now being off the herb

Maybe you could kindly ask her, if christianity is so against shamanism, then why do they choose to deliberatily celebrate shamanic holidays such as christmas??

According to origional mythology, jesus was NOT born in the month of Dec.. Jesus was apparently 5 months older than John the Baptist, who was said to have born April 19 or 20th. That would then place the birth of Jesus in the month of September.

What is actually celebrated in the month of Dec historically is pagan festivals. Saturnalia was a pagan based roman festival held on Dec. 25th to honor the birthday of the sun god. The church then began its long history of lies telling its adherants that this was the birthday of christ in order to convert and smother the practices of the pagans.

The church then stole another germanic pagan tradtion. The germanic pagan people did not actually cut down trees and bring them into their homes, as this was destructive to nature. They did, however, decorate their homes with branches of evergreen shrubs durring the time of the winter soltice, dec 21. This was done as a shamanistic magical practice designed to keep the sun from freezing over durrign the winter months because evergreens were the only plants that had the ability to stay green all yr.

The ancient pagan Romans howver, did bring whole trees into their homes for saturnalia, and decorated them with 12 candles to honor their sun god. They also decorated theirtrees with metal ornaments and symbols of their fertility god, Bacchus.

Another stolen traditon, routed in the ceremonial use of entheogens can be found within the immage of santa clause. The siberian indigenous peoples have made use of the red and white spotted amanita muscaria mushrooms for much longer than christianity has been around. They concidered them gifts from their god and the shamans would dress in red and white ceremonial dress. Reindeer were also known to ingest these mushrooms for the intoxicating effects, and the tribe, would have hallucinations of flying reindeer.

The church, in an attempt to stomp out this culture, began to assimilate the red and white motifs prevailent in siberian shamnic society, into the image of santa clause, injecting the paradigm of the shaman into that of their chrsitmas hoax. They carefully wove this lie of santa with that of the flying reindeer, and came up with the flying sleigh pulled by reindeer we all know today.

These points are really just the tip of the iceberg.. Many historians have come to the conclusion that moses vision he had in the burning bush, actually occured in the midst of burning acacia bushes, which contain high levels of DMT.

Most ppl, when they think of the inquisition, they immediatly think of the spanish. The real inquisition began much farther back in time. Europe suffered the evil stronghold of the churchlong before the americas. Christianity is in no way a european religion. Europe was composed of pagan, germanic tribes. Heathenism. These tribes were animistic/polytheistic, hunter gathere type peoples. Land ownership was not so much an issue because farming was not that big an issue. People grew crops, but not to any extensive level. When the church began its european invasion, they were the ones to set up the banking system which comprised of loans and interest.

Before the church, land was given to ppl according to how many mouths there were to feed in a family. When the church came along, they pushed large scale farming and social inequality. Land was now given out in accordance to how wealthy one was..how many oxan one owned. The more oxan one owned, the more power they had behind them to turn the earth through the technologies of oxan driven farming technologies. Ones who could not afford so many oxan, but had more mouths to feed, were forced to go to the church run banks and take out loans, which the church then applied interest rates to, driving up costs, hense more loans and more interest...

The church then began to demonize any tribe that resisted the inquisition.. hense the rediculous overpopulated theory of vikings being more irrational and warlike than any other culture in history. It is true that the viking waged many war upon the adherants of the church, but in an attempt of self preservation.. there is not much evidence of them doing so to other civilizations. There is evidence of the viking carrying out peaceful trade with india and north america, and actually sharing a religion much closer to hinduism than any other..

i think most of us know the rest of the story and all about the north american inquisition..The church has done all it can to wipe out countless cultures, anyone who would not bow down to them, more people have suffered throughout history due to the church than any other organization EVER...

So maybe you could ask her to explain to you how she can possibly find justification in all of the unthinkable atrocities carried out by the church in the name of their god??? The church has made it their personal mission to stomp out ANY pagan/shamanistic tradtion using methods that they themselves would deem unfit and sinful, all of which had entheogenic practices, so whos evil??..

Jesus would shake his head with discust....

HEY GUESS WHAT?

IM back, and no i am not a christian (though id chill with jesus on a changa spliff during a cactus session)

and guess who is now a non christian arguing that jesus saves the plant eating sinners? THIS GIRL (the one the thread was based on)

she now views cacti as a sacrament and has quit all pharmaceuticals, she was disowned from her conservative family for her new radical views and is sharing the love of entheogens with her peers. she and i have had a rocky road the past few years but i finally LET GO and now she has grown into a student of the plants that i am nearly too proud of. our communications are a blessing and we have both learned so much in the past few years. i just wanted to update this thread because...

to everyone who said that it was a waste of time, you may have been right, she may have been destined for entheogens after all, and i might have been sacrificing several years of my spiritual growth for someone elses beggining, but you know what, LOVE is and was WORTH IT

every tear and every heartbreak was worth this immense joy i feel when i think about the paths we have walked and the ones we shall tred.

I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE LOVED and letting go, difficult as any deep tryptamine experience, was so worth it aswell. now we are both back to a spiritual journey and have a companionship so deep i feel that reality (this one) is ephemeral comparatively. infact, several hundred miles apart, our dreams even correlate in bizarre ways.

I wish my wife would denounce her Christian upbringing and embrace psychedelics as much as I do, but she is faithful to me, accepts me for who I am, and our love for each other is strong, so I live and let live. Plus there is still hope for her because she does enjoy eating the occasional magic mushroom and says she will smoke some of my Changa when she feels ready.8)

Being somewhat anti-christian myself, I really enjoyed reading this thread. :d

Secondly, I'm so glad this worked out for you and your gal. I was in the same situation as your lady friend, having been brought up indoctrinated with Christian beliefs and totally opposed to finding god in any way other than through the bible and going to church. Those ideological shackles are not easy to shed!! However, thank the true god that he provided a tool in the plant allies that allows us to experience the truth of the divine ourselves, without the mediation of a savior or set of beliefs.

Another christian here, although I term myself more as a Buddha-Christ. In that I was born christian. Which then dissolved into atheism when I realized that organized religion was a sham. Then threw the magic of LSD I rediscovered religion threw Buddhism, I mean it really was quite shocking that things I perceived in LSD space I then encountered when I got into Buddhism.

So all organized religion is a sham is still a fact I stick to. Although the bible along with all holy books(I guess I cant say all since I have not read them all), but in general I feel are good guide books to salvation of the soul. There are many ways to God, but there is only one God.

It is hard to not get angry at the people who take every word of the bible as fact. But I think it is even more absurd to throw out a book with such good teachings as B.S. cause a group of people take it too literally. And it is even more ludicrous to me that people take sacred sacraments with no faith or belief in anything. The bible is a moral guidebook(and can be a very good one), not a history book. And there obvious connections in the bible to the use of ethneogens.

Everyone in the bible was drunk, even the blood of christ is wine. Make use of all his plants(marihuana, peyote, mushrooms.) I think the biggest slight against God these days is that plants are banned. People in the bible meditated all the time, and 2 of the 3 gifts for the new born Jesus were incense.

The thing with the bible people forgot, especially the bible thumpers, is that the bible was written, setup, and organized by men. You think when they set up the King James version were thinking of ways to enlighten peoples souls, no. They obviously were trying to control the masses, and keep the peasants as peasants. And this has worked out great for them with many peasants believing science fiction like the world is 6000 years old, theres no evolution, and no man caused global warming.

So starting to ramble, main point. Don't get down on religion and God because you hate how the masses have twisted the truths. Instead seek to find the truths yourself. If they dont like how you worship, then its their problem not yours. 8)

she and i were very similar and thats why i was so infatuated. my love for myself seen in her was that of obsession and wanting to cheat lifes harder lessons with my own experiences for her. only recently did i understand that to appreciate logic one must experience logic, not simply be fed socratic dialogue (to my reoccurring dismay) even now i have found myself trying to nudge her in specific directions, only to remember that the beauty of growth is a self achieved treasure. i will do my best to offer sound logic when requested and try to remain as non egoic as possible when giving my opinion. sometimes it is difficult to remain as non partisan as possible given our history and its ensnarement i am wary of.

i ask that i may be given more opportunities to earn a positive influence in other seekers lives as a sort of reference of love

noah: called manu by hindus, flood story carried throughout 300+ mythologies

all of that, plus the fact that most of judaism is basically sumerian mythology modified to monotheism, makes christianity, at least in my eyes, pretty ridiculous.

undoubtedly a lot of that was being raised in a fundamental christian home with a quasi-theologian for a father.


also there is an omnipotent being who will make you suffer for eternity if you:

>curse your mother or father
>have a variety of crops on the same field
>have a flat nose, or are blind or lame, you cannot go to an altar of God

personally i find eastern religions to be a lot more enlightening (taoism, hinduism, buddhism, confucianism) , but it all amounts to the same thing (scroll down past the bible verses)
