Hello friends,

during one of the trips I have been few days after workout. Had muscle fever / sore muscles. Could really feel that, and it was somewhat great.

It got me thinking about few things.

While psychedelics improve neuroplasticity and many other things. Would activity during trip go "deeper" in some meaning?

Lets say I get workout done on 5 grams of mushrooms, there could be benefits. I could imagine that even nervous system would get the message that muscle growth is important. But even if in that would not be the case, psychological impact should be there. If one does work out during trip, there is no excuse to not do it on normal days.

When you use some part of brain the blood flow is improved in the part you use. Therefore more psilocybin goes there, that could improve neuroplasticity in the area more. So one could come to theorize that improvements could go faster.

Lets say I do piano practice during the trip, and therefore I could improve my practicing/learning the instrument. Same could go for other things as well.

As far as I thought I could not think about experiment that would prove or disprove that, on reliable basis.

What do you humans think?

It's an old hippie trick to do exercise during the acid come up. Acid's come up makes you feel kind of tight and nervous and exercise channels that and takes you into a more active but ultimately relaxed trip. I've dropped acid before the gym a number of times. Timing is important. :) Kinda don't want to be tripping balls there.

I can confirm piano and LSD go together like PB&J!

I think physically engaging with these states is something that is currently being largely missed by the psychonaut community. It helps ground and stabilize it, integrating the body into these levels of awareness, which can of course deepen the overall experience significantly. Complex flowing movement also helps shove the ego aside, as it's inherently a right hemisphere ability.

People sense there is something deeply familiar and fundamental about psychedelic states, as if we are re-accessing or coming home to a dormant aspect of our selves... So it would make sense to involve the body. To me these states appear to be profoundly relevant to and transformative of our perception of self and environment, and not simply the inner alien portal meme that the culture has latched onto.

Running through a forest on DMT after a deep experience in a meadow was one of the highlights of my life :)

Are there any protocols anywhere for synergised psychedelic/movement therapy? I'm reminded of a Taoism-based work on "Spontaneous Movement for Health and Happiness", which could provide a useful starting point for such a practice. Ime, following spontaneous movement impulses already provides a beneficial level of neurophysiological release, or whatever you'd choose to call it, so implementing a few structureg exercise should expedite this process.

The book to which I'm referring was self-published by Dr. Shen Hongxun and as such has no ISBN.
