I am not into purging, so I will always take the easiest way around that and I would prefer not to do a Harmala extract. What I have found to work perfectly is allowing my Caapi brew to sit several days in a cool dark place and then decant filtering through a t shirt. The resultant brew causes me no nausea what so ever. Just mix in the spice and ... . . . . down the hatch all at once. I can make a 10 dose batch and I'm set for a month or so. Some mornings I enjoy a cup of warm caapi brew with no spice, just caapi. It makes the day go by....... Groovy. A warm cup before bed is also nice.

I wonder why that doesn't cause nausea? What "happens" to the caapi brew while waiting in the dark? And how did you come up with that method?
Also I highly doubt SWIY would get a powder after evaporation. There is going to be a lot of plant oils and phenolics among other compounds in a crude extract.
Hm....joebono said:I am in the process of the extraction of caapi. I took 500 grams of shredded cielo caapi vine and put it into a gallon jug. I added about three bottles of Everclear and a little HCL. I let it sit for a few days and shook it a lot. I also placed it in a hot pot of water for hours and hours. Next I will filter the Everclear and then do one more wash. Then I will filter again and then evaporate the Everclear, scrape and gelcap the goods. I will then divide it up into ten doses. I am sure this will be heavenly!

joebono said:So far it is brown, but I am still working on the first wash. Someone I know has done this same extraction and swears by the full spectrum caapi alkaloids that it extracts in all of its glory. I probably have another week or so until it is all done and then I will post the results. Wish me luck.
