hey all, so ive been interested in growing different types of crystals. i have 2 attempts going right now. one for the sea urchin type cluster and one to make the diamond/coffin shaped shards. the diamond shaped ones were tricky to figure out how to get them started but i think i got it.
disclaimer- im kinda going off of lots of different advice as well as my own logic so i don't claim to be an expert. if im wrong on any points feel free to let me know and i will update this.
ok here we go.
first thing that must be done to get these cool shapes is a seed crystal or seeds. this was the tricky thing to figure out. the spiky clusters seem to be the preferred re-x of dmt unless you get crafty.
what i did was i used as low of heat as possible, just warm tap water in a double boiler system to warm the naphtha just enough to dissolve a small amount of freebase. i used 250mg in 75ml naphtha. i found when you use a higher concentration of dmt and high heat you cant stop the clusters from forming.
instead of higher heat i stirred for many min as well as muddled the freebase to get it to dissolve. once dissolved and cooled to room temp i placed a pre-selected flat dmt shard from previous extraction in the center of the container and placed in a cool still closet for 2 days.
after 2 days it looked like this. if you notice all the little shapes around the center crystal are like mini diamonds. its hard to see in pics but this is what im going for.
