Cybs Hybrid ATB 'Salt' Tek...Designed for newbies.

Migrated topic.

Not true Ime.
Gold/Tan or Orange is what to expect. This tek is designed to drag the most out of the bark.
Lye contamination will look like dark brown/black dots/smudges. This won't happen if you are careful with your pulls.

Congrats @eastlancsguy on 2%. You got a pile of Gold (the best stuff)
Mimosa is the way to go (if you can find it) 😉

Thanks Cyb! My friend is super happy with the results.

He tells me he was really careful with the naphtha pulls and didn't pick up any of the base soup, so Id be really surprised if there were any contaminants.

This is a really great tek mate, once again, many thanks for taking the time to share it.

Ok. Was thinking the heat produced would help dissolve the salt.
You dissolve the salt first in warm water...read the document.
Exothermic reactions are potentially dangerous... Don't mess around with lye.

Hey Family! CYB! You are the man! Thanks so much for a great tek! Here are a few of my achievements.

I want to say a big thank you to Cyb for researching and publishing this tek:thumb_up:. 50gm of MHRB has yielded 725mg of spice in 3 pulls so far. My previous attempt using 50gm from the same sample of source material yielded only 70mg of spice using a standard acid base method:cry:. An added bonus is that the clean up is much much easier.

I just want to say a quick thank you to Cyb for putting this up.

I am NOT good at following instructions, but I feel like my 8 year old niece could follow this tek

The format was perfect with the pictures etc and the explanation of each step is really clear.

Perfect for newbies!

Love you lots

Just weighed my yield with this tek, is 270 mg from 5 pulls typical with this technique? It felt a bit disappointing.

I don't have access to VM&P Naphtha where I live so used a similar solvent that's readily available. (Essence C & F)
Essence C is very volatile so evaporates too quickly when heated, essence F is slower to evaporate than VM&P so I blended both and used a heat bath.

I did 5 pulls on the first day, the first 2 pulls took a while to separate but after the 3rd, the solvent easily reached the top of the soup. I ended up with 270 mg of spice.

The 2nd day, I did another 5 pulls, using more heat and more essence F than C. The solvent came out more yellow, it is currently in the freezer, will collect the goodies later today.

I figured that because I used shredded bark ground up in a coffee grinder, it might require more breakdown of the plant material by the lye to increase the yield, so I'm going to wait a week to do more pulls. I'm guessing about this, it's my first extraction with root bark, do you think this assumption is correct?

Edit: After my second 5 pulls (10 plls in total), the yield is up to 638 mg - I think that I'll just keep pulling until nothing else comes out. I'm guessing the solvent I'm using doesn't have the pulling power.

Such a comfort method. Presenting in the pic attached
yellow DMT powder with 1.65% yield from a bark with lye that rested for only 1 hour and a half
waxy red DMT with a 1.85% yield from a bark with lye that rested for 20 hours

If one wants to increase the volume of liquid from 700ml to 1000ml in order to push the naphtha layer into the tapered part of the bottle to make pulling easier, what would be the best way to accomplish this?

Do you mean by simply adding water? because that would work.
