to put things into context
i think the way a dieta works is by providing the body with nourishment without excitation
where over time (rather short amount of time) the nervous system and the brain dial themselves back into a more balanced tune of available oxygen, energy, nutrient delivery and drainage relative to the rate of the excitation of the neuron cells
this can be described as a very stable state of deep calm and flow
an oceanic calm which is needed to support the tremendous excitation brought about by a hefty dose of ayahuasca, as to prevent total psychological breakdown and trauma and reinforce the possibility of prolonged homeostasis in peak awakeness
If we think of different religions and cultures, they are from different regions of the world which dictate what kind of foods will be available to them. I would imagine people who were more isolated or lived where foods that are common to one person was not so common to another, those people would have to use what was available to them.
From different tubers, to different, plants, meats, spices....
I also think if we are trying to optimize our nutrition without excitation, we need discipline, meditation. Its very easy for most people to be over reactive. I think our conditioning from our society can have a greater impairment on our physical and mental health then our diets.
I think with all the advancements in our world, we should take advantage. Using sleep monitors, getting blood work, eeg. Any tools that can help measure to give us direction can be beneficial in aiding our aims and goals.
Healing starts from within, But diet is very important to.
Personally I wish i could live more harmoniously with nature, it is my north star. Following that star comes with a lot of sacrifice.
But many cultures incorporate spices which i find to be one of the more amazing things one can add to any diet even fasted.
Also i will add, about discipline to know our body's requirements. We dont need to starve ourselves, we should have a healthy diet. Too many calories or too little and we can become unhealthy.
Some exercise, cardio, weightlifting, breathing exercise could all be incorporated.
I think we should look from a more holistic point.
But i think we should also keep in mind every person is different, and there is many different paths that can take us to the same destination.
