Diethyltryptamine - an underexplored gem

Throughout the past few weeks, I have been experimenting with diethyltryptamine (DET) and have found it to be a valuable entheogen. The product I obtained contains a majority of DET, a small amount of N-Ethyltryptamine, and trace tryptamine. There are a few reports around, but I believe this compound is not too well documented due to being under legislation for a long time. I am very excited to present the effects because I have found a lot of use in it.

I have only explored low doses of freebase, vaped, starting from 4 mg up to 8 mg. The compound vapes cleanly on convection e-mesh with no harshness.

At these levels, it is anxiolytic and relaxing, with a warm euphoric body load and headspace. I find it to be very manageable, never really feeling any uncomfortable intensity from it or heavy body load. Of particular therapeutic importance to me is that it lasts quite long ~ around 1-1.5 hours. More time is available to explore the effects without interruption from redosing. It contrasts with DMT by missing the mystery and alien feeling that accompanies even low doses of DMT. I find the mystery has its own purpose, but the absence of this effect in DET makes it a more relaxed experience.

I would say it also has a slight sedative, stoning characteristic to it, though without the slowness and fogginess that I experience with weed. I often feel like lying down and drifting into a dream state. I have not explored high enough doses to explore the visuals properly. At low doses, my vision just becomes enhanced in colour, things flow a little, and some patterns emerge. Music also sounds amazing.

It synergizes well with yerba mate, which seems to amplify the euphoric effects.

DET is active orally as it is not consumed by MAO, but I have yet to try this ROA.

When I have the chance I will try to separate the tertiary amine from the secondary and primary as I am quite interested in the effects of N-Ethyltryptamine by itself. I'll report with any further experimentation.

Really interesting to read, I haven’t tried DET but I have a small jar of MET fumarate to experiment with, so far I haven’t had the time for it but I like to try it out and like you I’m also interested in combining it with harmalas.

Since it’s a novel compound I post the safety warning from psychonaut wiki here:
The toxicity and long-term health effects of recreational DET has not been studied in any scientific context and the exact toxic dose is unknown. This is because DET is a research chemical with a limited history of human usage. However, it is presumed to have a similar toxicity profile as DMT due to similarities in their chemical structure.

Anecdotal reports from those who have tried DET suggests that there are no negative health effects attributed to simply trying the substance by itself at low to moderate doses and using it very sparingly (but nothing can be completely guaranteed). Independent research should always be done to ensure that a combination of two or more substances is safe before consumption.

It is strongly recommended that one use harm reduction practices when using this substance.

Yes due to the novelty of the compound, I am weary of trying higher doses, though I have not yet felt an indication of toxicity.

The ease of the experience also gives it a recreational feel, and I am more skeptical of recreational compounds.

I also have one experience with DET.
It was produced by local underground psychedelics chemist whom I trust, (otherwise I would never consumed it)
but have to frankly mention that I was not very informed about it. Only two people ingested this material before me.

I've consumed maybe 30mg (just estimate, no info about purity) orally, effects were similar to mushrooms, I would say typical tryptamine type of trip, but with lower bodyload, reduced anxiety and unpleasantness at the beginning, it was quite relaxed feeling.
It also had shorter duration of effects, just 2 hours.
Auditory effects very pronounced, I have spent most of the time of the experience by hearing and enjoying various sounds.
