DMT and Dreaming

[Factual Paradox]

While awaking from a nap earlier, I heard the bzzzzzzzing and wooshing I've heard my myself and others have heard while experience breakthrough, as if being transported back to my body from hyperspace. I've also heard of DMT being the molicule that allows us to dream. So it made me wonder if anyone has had dream experiences that were the same or similar to a DMT experience/ breakthrough. I have lucid dreams regularly but I haven't thought of inducing a DMT like dream. Has anyone had dreams like this?

Thoughts or comments?

Thanks, F.P.

i find after a breakthrough i KNOW that im going to have some very intense dreams that are either very lucid/i remember them in great detail/ or they are kind've hyperspace-like without the entities or as...hyper; but amazing patterns and fractals

[highRvibratoryfreq]

the week before i first extracted and smoked DMT quite some time ago, i had multiple lucid dreams where i smoked DMT and the trip experiences were as profound vivid/real as any of my waking DMT trips. since then ive perhaps only ever had one maybe 2 dreams where i smoked DMT again thats in over 8 years.

[The Electric Hippy]

I often breakthrough in dreams, though I'm never using DMT when I do so. Last night, I had a dream that I was going to bed. As soon as my head hit the pillow and my eyes closed, I was catapulted into this dark void-like area where the gravity was very strong and everything was blossoming into crysanthimums that wilted away as the colors oozed out from them.

Dream breakthroughs are just as intense as real ones, which is very surprising to me.

Thanks for the insight guys. Now I can start working on inducing breakthroughs while lucid dreaming without DMT.

Was this experience before you experienced DMT at all? Or just before you first personal extraction?

Dream breakthroughs are just as intense as real ones, which is very surprising to me.

Reminds me of the true potential of our minds and how we only use a fraction of our brain/ senses on a daily bases. It would be amazing to one day induce a breakthrough willing and effortlessly. " Well I'm home from work, time to lay down and jump into hyperspace!"

[highRvibratoryfreq]

before my first personal extraction but, i had only tried it once before perhaps 3 years before the lucid dreams, and the experience was beautiful but very mild i didnt smoke a big hit, but it was enough to spark my interest, the dream experiences were a lot more intense . and so were the waking experiences that shortly followed my first extractions..

[Factual Paradox]

Very interesting, a sense of fate comes to mind when thinking you had these equally vivid breakthroughs in lucid dreams before you had them in waking life. As if your mind knew what was coming and wanted to give you a little taste

weird as it sounds what i am going to tell you , its still the truth ,

everytime i smoke dmt , just a day or two before that i have a dream where i am smoking dmt in the dream , its like my body and brain knows i'll be smoking dmt so it gives me the experience in a dream which is not comparable to smoking dmt in reality , yet there are profound dmtesque alterations in my dream when this happens ,

naturally within a day or two of dmt dreams i end up smoking dmt in reality , happens a lot even the very first time i smoked dmt , which makes me think dreams and reality are more connected than i think , yet how is still a mystery to me

It has been demonstrated with fMRI that the neurological activity involved with dreaming is much more similar to the neurological activity involved in using the imagination whereas with ayahuasca, neurological activity mirrored the perception of open eyed external objects. If DMT is involved in dreaming, I think it modulates it in a subtle fashion. As far as dreaming up DMT-like experiences or psychedelic experiences in general, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to see that since anything on a dreamer's mind during the waking day can end up in a dream and as psychonauts we tend to think about psychedelics in our waking state a lot, that psychedelic events end up showing up in dreams. I don't think it necessarily has much to do with the brain being exposed to any psychedelic chemicals during the psychedelic dream.

I have heard the buzzz since I was 7. I always get that sound at the onset of sleep paralysis (SP). Not sure if you have ever experienced it, but everone does when they fall asleep. The difference is most are unconscious during this phase. If you haven't heard of it, it is when your body releases a hormone that paralyses your body so that you don't act out your dreams. Often considered a sleep disorder, sleep paralysis happens to some people when their mind is still awake, this results in a mind awake/body asleep state... which if you don't know what is happening can be very frightening. This is VERY common during naps because of the light sleep you are in.

SP can also be a perfect spring board for lucid dreaming, and is one of the main practices of WILD (wake induced luucid dreams) the sound and hummmmming you heard during your nap was what many believe to be the transition between here and the astral.... hence, DMT! The mother of all astral planes. If you read this far, go to youtube and search for Sacred Geometry DNA and watch the vid... see what you think.

Enough rambling...sweet dreams/launches

DMT and Dreaming can pretty much leave you on the same place. While dreaming is slower and more natural way to go where you want to, it can eventually lead you to where DMT does, you just need to master dreaming. Also, look on its bright side, dreaming gives you far more control than DMT does, you are just more of yourself and you can decide whether to stop the trip or not.

paradox

well thats what i like to think, theres some kind of pregonition going on. for me psychedelic experiences in dreams arent very common.

jin

your the first person ive heard, who has had the same kind of experiences, and surprises me more you say they happened with such consistency.

and the buzz you are talking about i also have experienced during sleep paralysis, for years it coincided with heavy mdma or lsd use 2 days after for one night it would happen as i was going to sleep perhaps 2 or 3 but only for that 1 night. mostly after a festival. a lot of people i know had similar reactions so im certainly not alone here.

Thank you all for the insight. This is why I love this site, I couldn't get these types of responds any where else.

I watched the video, it gave me chills, goosebumps and even slight tears of joy, thank you for the recommendation. I do believe dreaming is a natural tool we have to enter other planes of existence, whereas DMT is a physical manifestation of what our dreams are, or potentially can be if we allow them.

As for the SP, it seems to go hand in hand with lucid dreaming, I've been practicing lucid dreaming for awhile so I guess it would only be natural to experience SP as well.

Glad you liked it! I honestly think the onset of a breakthrough is the visual manifestation of "frequency" ... but what do I know. There are so many layers to human consciousness.. infinite perhaps.

Hehe,

A week ago I posted about this very same topic. I went about it a little differently, probably. I really wanted my spice which was coming late so after drinking a little too much alcohol I felt I could breakthrough by meditating and astral projection and prove to myself that it is possible to have DMTesque experiences naturally. I sort of knew this already since natural experiences are what inspired me to search out and ultimately find spice as a piece to the puzzle.

My post was about taking heed. It was probably the alcohol, but I did breakthrough, fractals, flying through geometric light worlds... and then uncontrollable lucid dreams that would not end and were very frightening. It was a very exhausting experience but now I know it is possible... a lot different than a spice journey but very similar. Just be careful!

Thanks for the feedback, always happy to hear when someone can breakthrough without our wonderful molecule. Very encouraging for my personal journey. However, if the dreams were lucid, and thus being in your control, why not simply change whatever was making them unsettling?

[complacentnation]

Well, I suppose they were not lucid then.

They were real and endless in that I could wake up go back to sleep and continue having vivid dreams, they were definitely not in my control... my mind could not control this experience once it was opened to it. Where I was aware of my own consciousness and how my body was behaving in a dream state, sleep paralysis, eyes moving, a humming sound and vibrations across my body. Dreams like films, very visual, very real... dreams that made sense. Usually my dreams make no sense. Every dream I had made sense and many on a stereotypical subconscious tale scale. This lasted for about a day and a half. Was interesting, but like I said, exhausting.

When I first had the breakthrough was when I saw fractal tunnels and I flew through some sort of space environment... it completely blasted open the doors for that type of experience. It has been over a week and if I let it form while I am sleeping I know it might happen again but it has been much easier to not let it happen so that I can get a good rest. DMT really helped me to figure out what and how to concentrate on to get it going. It is a natural experience. Much of it actually felt more like some sort of possession; something else forcing views and thoughts. Days later I could hear high pitch frequencies very loudly and my inner voice which I have not heard so well since I was a kid was much louder in my head... brain felt painful tension for days afterwards. Definitely, not like DMT. But, along the same vein.

So you have a dream that you are smoking DMT then a couple days later you decide to smoke DMT? I dont understand how you think this is mystical or weird.

If maybe you didnt have any DMT or hadnt ever used and a few days after having said dream someone came to you with some offering then ya I would say that is pretty interesting especially if it happened often. But the fact that you dose yourself on some sort of regular basis and happen to have dreams about it isnt strange at all.

Having dreams about driving to work, and then the next day you drove to work doesnt mean your dream told the future.

i know i have heard of plants i read on breifly like iboga taking u to the land of the dead or auyaosca ( however u spell) showing u other planes of exsitence , but i was wondering on someones point of veiw on a trip that begun opening multiple demensions ( beautiful undescribable fifth demension for some reason i would describe it as) and leaves me acting as if in a seizure with eyes rollin in head sayin im dying im going no im dying followed by i silence and unable to breath right after saying im dead . well i laid there for sometime swimming in darkness with wut feels like prescences taking me as far as i would allow them. before hearing ppl worry when i swam back to the bady i was blind but new i was there confused as just no vision . when fully aware again was an interesting feelin of knowledge , beauty and sense of a pure connection . i know this story may be slight ly fragmented at this time but i am wondering to someones view on this as some ppl were worrying and how far u can travel on this... i have also eatin a very large soma mushrrom years ago wchich lead to a amazing three week experiece but have not stubled on to any healers to aid me in this knowledge, and i just so happend on this sight if anyone can answer me , i also dont quite know how to use this sight so if it is possible to send me a message thanks would be appreciated ....safe travels.
