Does our level of consciousness influence the insights we receive?

Put what in more simple words? I'm just having conversation, I normally get some pretty horrible responses in real life for asking questions and explaining things how I see them, so i welcome any back and forth.

What i asked boils down to, what if everything youve gained and learned on your journey has been incorrect, and the true nature of it all is something completely different? I dont necessarily think thats the case, but the thread is titled does the level of consciousness effect insight gained, correlating insight with consciousness, but i guess im questioning "what if all of the insight is moot" and "where does that leave your consciousness?"

If you spend a lifetime travelling a path, only to be told or shown, the real path is only visible when wearing the indigo, maroon, and bright blue lenses at the same time (reference to your different colored lenses), what's next? What if there is a true path and we're all obscuring it with our speculations that come from wearing our glasses? Because my red probably isnt the same as your red, just like the sound I hear is likely different than the sound you hear.

I actually agree with you here. Most likely, all we learn has very little to do with Truth.
All our struggles are just to see that we have glasses on. Can we take them off ourselves? Who knows…

Where does that leave your consciousness? I would say Right Here. It's always right here.
To see that there is an awareness always at hand independent of all the views and insights is the path to Truth or Freedom.

I think you answered all your questions yourself. The only puzzling thing here is that the answer is Silence.
Our human mind doesn't take it for the answer and proceeds with thinking and complex ideas.
When we are able to just ask these questions and Be, the mystery would solve itself.

Sorry. As i said, I have a crappy family dynamic so when im asked a question, they're never simply asking me a question, they're questioning me as a whole so I interpreted his message as coming from a place like "who the f do you think you are" with the word choice and punctuation. It seemed more aggressive than what it really was, I guess.

I wish I could find a way to gain some silence. If its not incessant complex ideas, and I successfully exhaust my brain, I'll start talking out loud to pick up where I left off. Its horrible lol

I think we're all this way. The only difference would be our personal psychology and how it manifests in our lives.
For me, simple things like walking in nature, exercises and some meaningful manual work produce the most silent state.
From what I understand, we can train ourselves to just Be, but I'm still a long way to consistently rest in this state.
Silence is always at hand, but ideas and thoughts are just too compelling. Human mind is insanely interesting
