Drum and Bass / Jungle music

future/RETRO label bringing it back new-skool style thanks to tha Reaper!
Thanks to your shares, I have tapped into future/retro, deep jungle, and western lore records, giving me what feels like a treasure trove of new jungle tracks/artists to explore. I was playing some jungle at work yesterday and my coworkers were digging it! I’m truly stoked to have discovered all this new music, having been on the cusp, but not quite there, in terms of knowing about it all.

That's honestly the best part of finding new music, is getting to share it with like-minded people such as yourself, as well as others in this broad thread who've also enjoyed and shared their own listening tunes. Even real-life DJ's that have done the business!

May the junglist force be with you. 🌞

A trip back into time. The early days of jungle.
Nice one. I was barely a teenager in the mid-nineties, and though I wasn't hip to the rave scene, I still interfaced with it, in a subtle way - namely, I remember there was a clothing store called Allston Beat that my friends and I would go to, just because we thought it was cool... looking back, it was obviously a store dedicated to the rave fashion of the time (I vaguely remember seeing rave flyers without knowing what they were) .

It seems like rave culture was pretty ubiquitous back then, with the giant pants, stretched earlobes, and such... I thought all that stuff was so cool, but had no idea what it was connected to. I bet the mid-90's would have been a fun time to be alive for someone a little older and tapped into the burgeoning rave culture, whether in the US or in Europe (especially the UK).

I think that's what so great about the 'new skool jungle' comeback, reinforcing today what was largely unknown to so many people decades ago, and bringing it back in a way that seems much more tangible, along with the advancements in audio tech. A lot of nostalgia nowadays for those who grew up into the scene, too.
