Humans are built around a lot of things. What do you mean they are built around dmt? How can a person be built around one chemical entitiy?

If DMT is not just an drug, but also a reality, human beings are born with dose of this ,,reality" in their head.
I don't agree with that. Drugs alter human beings perceptions of reality. DMT is a substance that does that. Whether or not it tells us something that normal waking reality couldn't remains to be determined.

good luck trying to tie quantum physics with altered consciousness, I had the same idealistic views about ten years ago. you couldn't publish anything tangible on the matter, because you couldn't show any evidence correlating the two.
sure it may be my fav molecule for altered consciousness, but it's by no means paramount to my existence.

^^Yes its sort of the same way I feel about psychedelics at this point benzyme. Which is why I bring up the question to you master of plants. If only to make you consider the many possibilities out there. I was once very optimistic that psychedelics were the key to understanding what I am and what lies beyond our normal waking consciousness. They have taught me so much about so many things but...One can learn much in these realms but SWIMs approach is to not take it too seriously and try to remain objective on what one experiences.

DMT has been found to be present in all humans and does not show variations based on time or other behaviors. Thus it appears to play a role in normal waking physiology. It is not likely to play some magical role. It is not present to allow us to trip or enter HYPERSPACE. It is always present in constant amounts. There are several papers published on the subject I suggest you look into them.
DMT acts on the regions of the brain involved in sensory perception. Thus obviously it creates novel experiences, this does not mean that this is a real reality it allows us to access. This is ridiculous and completely unfounded. There are plenty of drugs which cause intense hallucinations (scopolamine) where you have communication with beings yet for some reason people have this fascination with DMT. Just because the experience is incredible and intense and meaningful doesn't mean it occurred outside of the brain in some real reality. The brian is a very powerful organ, it creates everything you know, see, taste, smell, feel, think, thus it is not difficult for it when altered to create these types of experiences.
Also dreams point out the fact that the brain is capable of generating complex sensory information without sensory input.
If people keep talking about this ridiculous alien landscape stuff people are going to think DMT makes people go crazy and i wouldn't blame them although SWIM knows plenty of people who use DMT and do not believe this crap. DMT is a chemical. It is a chemical that can be used as a pharmacological tool to probe the regions of the CNS involved in the generation of subjective experience. It is not magical, it is a drug that alters regions of the CNS involved in constructing a conscious view of reality. Of course it is going to create meaningful complex illusions. The way consciousness is constructed we do not even know if anything but this complex illusions are even possible. Thus these types of experience seems somewhat inevitable with the way that the brains acts to create a unified view of reality. This is to say that intermediate experiences do not seem to exist, the minds view of reality is an all or nothing process.

Your hopes are dust (just like everyone elses), & so is your hamburger, without your brain to decode them into hopes & hamburgers for you to enjoy!
Did you ever do the experiment in high school science where you take a bite of an apple & chew it, while smelling a piece of an orange? The apple tastes like an orange even though it looks like an apple to your eyes & feels like an apple in your mouth. Your brain however, tastes (thinks it is) an orange because the sense of smell is stronger than (& somewhat responsible for) the sense of taste. Also, the sensory data given off by the orange is stronger than the sensory data given off by the apple. (something like that, its been a long time since high school) Try it!!
The apple & the orange are both there in "reality" regardless of whether the person doing the test is there or not. Your brain becomes aware of them when you see, touch, taste or smell them, It then creates your impression of this "reality". In this experiment you are blending the two different senses together through the input data you have given your brain to decode.
Strong psychedelics are similar in effect, taking all of the bodies sensory input & mixing it so-to-speak, creating what some perceive as an alternate reality. It can seem just as real, or even more real then everyday "reality", as all of the normal sensory data is still there just in a profoundly different way.
Anyway, I agree with Buf., the complexities of how our brains interpret this space we exist in & how that can be changed so dramatically when only a few chems are rearranged, is far more fascinating to me than the "DMT is the basis of everything & will be the future of our existence" idea.
Unfortunately, one actually has to research & work to understand these things better, which just isn't as fun as believing aliens are coming to take us back to Eden through DMT.
And it's definitely much easier to just believe a science fiction story than it is to research & understand facts. Apparently!!
You do realize without all the other chems, compounds, meat & bones forming your body & mind, that the N,N,DMT in your brain would just sit there doing absolutely nothing!! Much like extracted DMT does, unless you put it in your body & allow it to mix with everything else that makes you interpret your existence!!

Where your seeing visions but as soon as you "look" at it, its already changed into & out of 1,000,000 other things. For me when that kind of experience happens I get very uncomfortable & confused as to where/when/who I am, until things begin to slow down & subside.
Ever have a CD get stuck on "fast-forward", while in "Random Playback" mode?
What you hear is the random jumping from bit-to-bit over the entire CD (instead of just one song like normal), which makes no sense as your brain tries to logically tie the quick bursts of information back together, but none of it fits together correctly so what you perceive is a jumbled mess of sounds that confuses & disorientates you mind.
