Reading between the lines, you appear to be talking about Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus and similar species). It's great stuff, the fresh mushroom is delicious when cooked into a wide range of savory dishes and I also use a standardised powder in stuff like muesli and/or coffee to help stave off turning into a senile old fart any more rapidly than it's already happening.
Make friends with a mushroom grower if at all possible, or even take up cultivation yourself should you get the opportunity.
