Evap. removes all naptha?

Will evaporation after freezing always remove all traces of naptha (I think it will, but I'd like to be certain)? If not, what is the best way to do so? I see that some people use acetone to do this, but I'm not really clear on how that works.

Yes if you have clean naphtha and let it sit long enough it should all evaporate. Once you think its dry, a good way to test if its all really gone is to put the dmt in a small container for a few hours, then open the container and take a small sniff. if you can smell the naphtha then spread it all out and let it evaporate more.

Before extracting you can test how clean your naphtha is by letting some evaporate by itself on a glass dish. There should be no remnants

What if after recrystallization, there is still some naptha smell? Not very pungent, but it's definitely there. It's really the first time this happened to me, and I'm thinking to recrystallize again, but not sure this will get rid of the problem (it didn't the first time). I know naptha contains some carcinogenic agents, so I'm pretty skeptic about smoking it as it is.

Evap took place at room temp (so 21-22 C), over the course of 2-3 days (definitely over 2).

Redissolve in IPA, ethanol or acetone and then let it all evap again. This way the naphtha that is trapped between the crystals will be freed and will finally evap.

After this procedure you will probably notice how solid your DMT has become compared to the waxiness it probably has now.

Thanks Trav, will keep this in mind. I was a little hesitant to redissolve in acetone, because all I've really got is the nail one. It evaps clean, but I'm not sure how healthy that would be, since it contains some perfumes, next to acetone and water.

It seems like I rushed to post. Simply venting the container every day seems to have made the smell of naptha completely disappear. What I did was getting the spice out of its little ambered color container every day and let it sit on a piece of paper, spreaded out, for a couple of hours (usually between 1 and 2 hrs). It's one week now and the smell is completely gone. I'm gonna smell this some more over the next couple of days, to make sure my nose isn't playing tricks, but if it isn't, then this tip could maybe help the OP as well and save him another recrystallization. It's worth trying, even though it takes a little bit of time (no trouble if you have some spice left from your last extraction).

My DMT was actually not waxy at all. Just lots of needles and some nice crystals. A little yellowy, but it works for me. Check'em out (I've since performed a rex on them, but they look pretty much the same):
