Fascinating dmt interaction with mayans!!!!

Migrated topic.

To answer your question, no, it isn't that simple. Pharmacologically, simple modifications can lead to completely different effects (or no effects). I mean, think about it, even an isomer of a substance (which is basically the same substance with same composition but arranged differently) can be completely inactive, while the other isomer is extremely active (like LSD and iso-LSD).

Mushrooms contain 4-HO-DMT, yopo seeds contain 5-HO-DMT, virola trees might contain 5-MeO-DMT, Mimosa hostilis might contain DMT, etc etc.. They are all quite different, some are active orally, others not, some are visual, others less so, some have huge body load, others less, etc.. There may be DMT analogues natural or synthetic, that are completely inactive, or that may be toxic at quite low doses, or what not... So you cannot generalize that any molecule that has within it the DMT structure will be the same or even similar.

Another great clarifying example would be DMT and serotonin. They're isomers of each other, yet clearly display quite the different range of effects.

How old are you, ryan? Hopefully over 18.....

Global, they are not really isomers, serotonin = 5-hydroxy-tryptamine, DMT = Dimethyltryptamine.. They both have tryptamine inside their molecule but they have different modifications (a hydroxy group in one, and 2 methyl groups in another), so its a different molecular formula.

Oh. Ok, I'll stop saying that now. I could have sworn remember reading they were isomers. Must have muddled up some info along the way.

18 luckily i was still 17 lets put it this way was going through tough times with my father and was smoking alot on a daily bacis and was given zanax told it was an antidepressant well i blacked out over a general three day period worst time of my life.....ruined my senior year lost it completely that is why im going to research something before i ever think of trying it and that im gonna clean up my act and become a better person besides the kid who has potential but smoked it away like a moron i have big plans of becoming an electrical engineer and dont wanna screw that up for anything so my morals tell me to wait till the proper time in the future presents itself if it even does. if know what i mean here

doesnt melatonin and seratonin breakdown into dmt upon death when the brain runs out of oxygen??(oxylation maybe?? or is it decarboxylation?? or something different)

Im glad you are deciding to wait for a good time to use these substances, its a wise decision. Hope life turns out good for you.

And no, neither melatonin nor serotonin will not breakdown into DMT upon death. There is some speculation that there is an endogenous release of DMT in the body during death but there is no real indication to it other than the fact that some people with Near Death Experiences often seem to "see things", coupled with the fascination some people have over DMT, though there could be other explanations for it... (and the pathway to create DMT in the body is Tryptophan->Tryptamine->Dimethyltryptamine but its been found in very trace quantities so far).. This speculation might be completely off, or it might not, so far we just dont know, and this should be clear.

By the way, even though there is some special interest by some people with DMT, this is pretty arbitrary, there are a whole bunch of other molecules in our body that are also psychoactive but that people tend to ignore when they speculate about the whole pineal/death/spirituality story, like bufotenine, 5-MeO-DMT, endogenous cannabinoids, beta carbolines, etc.

i love using endocannabinol as a tool against non believers of the use of cannabis. to many ppl have this miss conception of omg its gonna kill my braincells oh no its worse on my lungs than cigarettes man those ppl crawl under my skin especially the ppl that are like ill never even get near someone with pot well um genius your brain produces its own form of thc and cbd and the other 58 cannabinoids why do you think we are hardwired unlike reptiles and amphibians for the use of cannabis i believe its here for a reason we are designed to usilize it but the question is what is the proper utilization for it medicinal or recreational or even spiritual haha but could you go in more depth with the endegenous psychoactives i only knew of endocannabinol and the traces of dmt or whatever(besides seratonin and dopamine i guess)

for short readers

Alexey Dmitriev, a Russian geologist, has analysed the increasing changes in Earth’s weather and seismic phenomena, plus recent changes to the geomagnetic field. He has also taken into account solar changes, and changes to the weather and magnetic fields of all the other planets in the solar system. A ten-fold increase to the layer of deflected interstellar plasma on the heliosphere boundary indicates that the solar system is headed into an area of magnetised plasma that Dmitriev says is causing these changes. An increasing incidence of plasma balls in the atmosphere is a sign of the imminent “transformation of Earth” says Dmitriev, involving an interaction with processes beyond the three-dimensional world.

Like Brinkley, other near-death-experience subjects have also foreseen Earth changes and consciousness changes associated with 2012, as have many who have undergone out-of-body experiences, lucid dreams, remote viewing, meditative trance states, and even alien abduction experiences. These are all mystical states in which the pineal gland in the centre of the human brain secretes dimethyltryptamine (DMT) into the blood, according to Rick Strassman’s recent study, and the Maya shamans used a mushroom containing psilocybin, which is a close relative of DMT, apparently accessing some sort of global mega-mind - the developing consciousness of the Earth mother

The13-baktun cycle is a 260-unit cycle and thus a macroscopic version of the 260-day sacred Tzolkin calendar, which is based on the period of human gestation, so the 13-baktun cycle may measure a planetary gestation period of 5,125 years, which is the length of human civilization’s recorded history. It seems that our entry into the magnetised plasma band will cause Earth weather changes, and a geomagnetic reversal, which will trigger the pineal gland into DMT and pinoline production, leading to kundalini and out-of-body experiences and increasing incidents of telepathy, while we develop our ability to see beyond the veil and into the next World.

Ryan,

You would like the new book by José Argüelles "Manifesto of the Noosphere". I just finished it and it was interesting if nothing else. Basically he predicts that the end of the Mayan calendar signifies humanity's discovery of an additional layer of energy surrounding the earth that our instruments have thus far been unable to detect but there is evidence of it's existence. This layer is what we could label the collective unconcious intelligence of the earth and all of it's lifeforms, forming a 'thought sphere' or 'noosphere' around the earth. He makes a case for this concept by drawing in all sorts of historical and recent discoveries, as well as the visionary and hallucinogenic states thought to be practiced by the ancient Mayans. He also states that the dawning of the internet is a forerunner for the noosphere: our thoughts are already connected almost instantly across the globe on a technological medium. He postulates that the rise of the techosphere heralds the coming of the noosphere as it would be the next natural transition from external communication to direct mental communication.

Anyways some of what your poking at with your theories has echoes in this 'noosphere' concept, I'd suggest you check it out :)

ill have to find that at booksamillione or hastings if not im so ordering it:) thank you very much!

even more evidence so not to be rude but i told yall i had evidence and research on this topic
Ryan13,

You're cherry-picking the worst possible sources and providing no reflection or commentary. It feels like you went to Google, found some links to support these wild claims, then yell "Nanananana told ya so!". This is not what the Nexus is about and I respectfully ask you to go do some serious research on your own topics so you can come back and bring something new and interesting to the community. So far, I see post after post with very little content.

Thank you.

if its a test for research back up and usage ya want sure i can due it might take me alittle bit but anything that interests me ill be glad to devote time to....and i was olny stating from earlier i said id find article concluding were i got the idea in the first place i was just giving it backing on yep some ppl believe this ok i didnt wanna seem the psychotic moron ranting about mayans being advanced spiritual beings when they were just the regular good ole mayans i wanted to prove there is some beilief among ppl with this topic but research what ya want thats what yall get ill try to keep you informed on hopw it is going being me in school still for the next few months with work and a gf and i do desire relaxed chill time lol but who doesnt

and i have not put comments cause i havent read the articles fully and everyomne on this sight seems to find any and every way to down what ive tried to present here. im not gonna leave a detailed comment when i just found it i posted the links to show it is out there and to allow others to have fast access to be able to comment as they read and learn and aprove or disprove.

When you backup your claims, you need reliable data and not cherry picked links.

This topic is now locked since I see no progress in the right direction.
