Favourite psychedelic music?

Migrated topic.
Interesting... Well done, and it reminds me of some stuff I like (Gez Varley, Plastikman, u-Ziq). A little cold and mechanical, but not necessarily in a bad way.

I think a trap that a lot of electronic musicians fall into is in wanting to do these long songs, 6 and 7 minutes... There's nothing wrong with doing an epic piece like that from time to time. But I don't think this song evolved or changed enough to require that kind of length. It starts with a great buildup, and if you were to trim it down a bit you could keep it evolving like that through the whole piece.

I also wonder if the samples don't maybe break the spell a bit? At the very least, I think they need to be smoothed out a bit so they don't cut in and out quite so abruptly. I actually find them hard to understand.

Anyway, you asked for feedback... Hope you don't mind. Sounds like you must have some experience composing... Got any more?

Hi thanks for the feedback. Yeah i know the track doesn't evolve at the moment. This is just a nights work, unfinished unmastered. Cheers for the positive comments :)

Here's another track you may like, its unmastered and best listened to through headfones quite loud ;)

When I'm journeying I like to listen to

Boards of Canada
Amon Tobin
Bonobo
STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector 9)
Explosions in the Sky
The Album Leaf

Someone try making a playlist on grooveshark with the top 10-20 songs from each of those artists. and listen to it while journeying. I find that playlist amazing.

The Moody Blues are also an amazing band to listen to while tripping
but doesn't really fit into the category of music above
which is basically all instrumental.

Thanks for that...

Medecine for the People. This guy Nahko Bear and his peeps are sweet. Went under my radar. One reason I love these threads... share the dope!

And that lady on the cajon is sick.

Fischerspooner has been a longtime favorite of mine that I haven't seen mentioned here. Certainly suited for tripping imo.
