Fighting a Breakthrough

Migrated topic.
This reminds me of something called past life regression. If i remember correctly this type of exercise is done in front of the mirror. Cant imagine what would it be like doing it during a DMT experience though

Please smoke dmt in front of the mirror, enough to breakthrough, and tell me that your face doesn't begin morphing into everything.

If you can still see your face (however warped) and a mirror, and understand them for what they are, you likely haven't broken through...

That said, anything can "morph into everything" on DMT, ime.

My reflection didn't morph into everything. It has morphed, but not into other people's faces. My left side became very "pure" or "angelic"; my right side grew horns and spines and.... well... not so angelic.

I'm sure different attempts will produce different results. I haven't felt the need to revisit the mirror during a strong experience. Maybe one day.

Oooo, boy, that ego death where you think your not coming back is a step into a 12 foot waterless pool..

Whack! But its just so funny how there are little reminders to evaluate the situation under a trip if kept calm and analytically smart and not panic.

Awesome read! Dmt just continues to amaze me! 😉

Namaste,

That sounds like an eye opening experience for sure. Sounds like your not done facing whatever demon you feel you have. Thanks for sharing.

I do wanna say, i have yet to read an experience that seems out of place for dmt. Theres nothing it cannot do.

Are you positive? I have had over a hundred experiences with DMT in the past, and many break throughs where it felt as though I had left this plane for eternity.

So I'd like to think I at least somewhat know what I'm talking about when I say I willed my eyes to stay open. They really should have closed as my body went nearly completely limp as it does when entering the dmt "tunnel."

Is it really that difficult to believe I managed to at least be in the tunnel with my eyes open? I suggest you try this. In the mirror, and do your very best to hold onto this reality as long as you possibly can. Fight the effects.

Far be it from me to tell me what you have or haven't experienced, but I will pass on fighting the effects, that's simply not how I enjoy experiencing DMT.

I stand by what I initially said; at the point where you have control over your body and an awareness of physical objects in everyday reality (e.g. a mirror and your reflection in it) that doesn't sound like a breakthrough to me. Could there be exceptions to this? Sure, I see no reason why not, but I think the vast majority of people experienced with DMT would have a similar response.

These are all just my opinions and obviously shouldn't (read: can't) diminish what you experienced. I just wanted to chime in with my opinion because it sounds different than how I (and others) have experienced breakthroughs.

That's all :)

Fighting the onset effects is interesting for sure, but I'm surprised no one has chimed in and reminded us all that smoking DMT while standing up is probably not the best idea.

:D

Beatenwarrior you said you were excited to try this again, have you been able to further your theory through additional studies yet?

It is an interesting idea, and one that seems to raise some feathers with the seasoned travelers. It would require a much different preparation for me, and one that I probably wouldn't be comfortable with and would expect things to go poorly. But I have seen the morphing you speak of on other substances, and don't doubt that it was very intense!

I think I understand what the OP is trying to say.

Do you think you opened some sort of porthole instead of you going through, things popped into this reality to say hi instead.

I find this topic very interesting indeed.
I remember hearing a video of Dennis McKenna describing an experiment where they where going to bring something back from hyperspace.

I believe there is work that needs to be done in this area.
Terrance talked about the magic "right here folks in real time" maybe he was more literal in his speaking then we give him credit for.

Terrance talked about Tikees in hyperspace maybe he meant to actually seekiT.

I'm very, very curious to see if someone else will at least see that digital face. It made me feel like this reality isn't... Well real. That this is a video game. Somewhat like the Matrix. Like my "greater consciousness" is the player. And I'm a puppet.

What is this telling us? Instead of me going through the tunnel and waking up out of this dream - I brought the dreamer into THIS world. I cannot fathom the implications of this. All that I know Is I'm excited to do this again.

The majority of my experiences have been standing up, lights on, eyes open, listening to Grateful Dead. If you can become more comfortable in this state (typically threw health and diet), the flow of energy running threw us becomes more pronounced (very pronounced) and there is a center, that center is (ill say IMO) the total peace and love feel thing. To me at least this is far more meaningful then what most call a breakthrough.

This center is the only thing thats seems to always be there. The matrix thing is there sometimes but ive only seen it a few times and it looked total diffrent each time. I dont know sometimes you see something once and never again.

dmt lol :) the rest of the world is missing out big time :)

I definitely don't doubt that it's possible to walk or see some of this reality-utterly transformed, of course- while fully breaking through. I had a panic experience after inhaling 50mg of DMT in one breath once and somehow managed to walk quite a ways, open a door, and wander around the room all the way until I came down (NOT recommended! :D ).

If anyone still thinks it's impossible to experience or see this reality while breaking through, you really need to go sit down in a meadow and have a nice open eyed experience by the trees <3

beatenwarrior, I'm pretty familiar with that kind of experience with a mirror. A mirror (or, better yet, a trustful partner who isn't paranoid of eye contact experiments!) is a VERY powerful window into the soul. It's amazing how underutilized that tool is for accessing profound states, but not surprising considering how weird and powerful it can be, even while sober after some psychedelic practice. Good for you for having the courage to do all that.

Personally I've never found it useful to make the arbitrary divide or false dichotomy being "going there" and "bringing it here" as talked about in the above post. I've also never found any use in fighting the experience either - I've already done that WAY too many times. Usually the more relaxed I am, the better. :)

:p

For me, I've had numerous open-eye experiences...just none where I would consider myself simultaneously capable of describing things I saw in the "real" world and breaking through. I've had open eye experiences where I could describe things before I broke through and after I broke through, but not while I was having the breakthrough. Perhaps this is a semantic point? For me...or at least for how I can recall the vast majority of my breakthrough experiences, the entire experience is not a breakthrough.

There is generally (though not always) some degree of come up, followed by the breakthrough, followed by the come down. Generally speaking, I could likely tell you what I saw happening in the real world as I came up and came down, but likely not during the breakthrough itself.

I've had one experience where it felt like I broke through into the very room I was sitting in, but for me, that has always been THE anomalous experience. So much so that I still question exactly what happened and feel somewhat hesitant to label that particular one a breakthrough, given how different it was from the myriad of others.

Again, this is just my experience. I'm not seeking to negate anyone else's or tell them how they should or shouldn't experience DMT. I'm just interested in trying to talk about what's going on and see how my own experiences relate.

:)

It almost seems like this idea is scary to most people. I'm not trying to attack anyone with this statement. IT's quite scary and intimidating fighting the effects of DMT. But the thing is, what have any of you got to lose? Aren't you curious what it was that I brought into this reality through the mirror? Don't you want to find out for yourself? What have you really got to lose.
Perhaps it's not about having something to lose. Perhaps it's about people having worked with DMT in their own ways and figuring out what works best for them. Personally, I have no interest in fighting the DMT experience at this stage in my life. It doesn't intrigue me, it doesn't pique my curiosity, it doesn't hold any sort of mystique; I'm simply not interested.

Does it have to do with fear? Perhaps, I've certainly struggled with letting go at times and have had rough experiences...but to me it's less a fear response and more a simple lack of interest. For example, I haven't smoked 5-meo-dmt yet and that's entirely a fear response, as I'm very much interested but working on getting other things in order first.

I'd also like to throw this back out there...
