I'm sure this is not the correct forum for this, but i would like to point something out that i found very interesting. I was listening to the radio on the way to work yesterday and i heard the now popular song "Fireflies" by a band called owl city. I have never liked the song, in fact found it quite annoying until yesterday. I would like for some of you to listen to the song and notice striking similarities to a DMT trip. I feel like the entire song is written about DMT, to me every word fits perfectly.

So am I crazy or is this band fooling the whole world by writing a very popular song that has a direct link to DMT use.

Yeah you are right actually! My friend said that he wrote it about his DMT experience, which also lead him to his overnight success... Crazy shit man... I believe that their-- OKAY SORRY TO INTERRUPT MYSELF...BUT! As I'm typing this "Fireflies" just came on the local radio station playing in the kitchen! I feel like I should hold onto what I was going to say now, but yeah. You are correct and not crazy... WOW!

Here's what the Blue Scholars did with this pop-garbage. They're one of my favorite underground hip-hop groups; the dj, Sabzi, is a jazz-trained pianist whose beats are a ridiculous sampling of music from everywhere. They're from Washington state and if you like 'em you should check out Common Market as well.

Ok so basically I JUST learned about DMT randomly the other day and coincidentally I've been having this urge to explore "dubstep" remixed music for the first time ever in my life.
I had heard that fireflies song on the radio and thought it was kinda cute but didn't really care too much for it... but when I started exploring for Dubstep Remixes I somehow came across the Dubstep Remix of Owl City Fireflies and after learning about DMT and researching it a little, while listening to this song I KNOW that HAS to be exactly what the song is written about. All the experiences with DMT that I read about sound so strangely similar to what Owl City is singing about. I also find it strangely relevant that the name of the singer is Owl City, because many of the experiences that I read about account for seeing Owls while under the influence of DMT, and Owls are said to be spiritual mysterious animals.

I would recommend downloading the Dubstep version to Owl City - Fireflies, even if you aren't into the song, or aren't into Dubstep Remixes you will DEFINITELY see what I'm talking about when you hear this song. It feels like a trip.

I don't generally consider myself to be a fan of hip-hop/rap, but I very much enjoyed that.
