First time Brewing of Big Batch

Well maybe many of you out there dont think its big. My Brew is made with 500 grams of Red vine and 100 grams of Premium MHRB.

This was allot of work. It has taken a few days.

I used a five gallon stainless cook pot. I needed something big because once I ground/shredded up the vine and bark It filled up 1\3 of the pot. I boiled it dowm 4 times with a splash od REAL Lime, seperating the cook off each time and puting it aside. I combined it all and now have 4 gallons to slow reduce. I figure by morning? maybe?

My end plan was to reduce it to 20oz so I could get 10 doses.

A dose would be 50mg vine and 10 grams MHRM. I can always increase as needed.

Anyone have any tips for me on these larger brews?

I have heard that the Mimosa and the Caapi should be brewed seperately. I brewed them together is there any problem with that? I'm down to the wire here. My 4 gallons is now down to about 36 oz. My goal is 20. Any one know?

Sorry, I never brewed such a large batch, but cooking caapi with MHRB shouldn't be a problem. I know that you are a pharma guy, what led you back to the drink?

I am a pharma guy indeed. What lead me back?

lol I had a 2,000gram + section of old growth vine from the Amazon laying around for some time now and I started to feel guilty. This section og vine was about 5" in diameter in some places. Check THIS out.

Any how I felt it was the right thing to do.

hmm well good luck, it's my understanding that the reason why most brew Mimosa separate from Caapi is because you can decant some sediment off the mimosa brew that might make the drink more nauseating if you didn't decant. perhaps you still can do this tho..?

Is it possible to get rid of this sediment by filtering through a T shirt or coffee filters?

yea id filter it a couple times using a fresh single layer of t-shirt each time, not coffee filters. the sediment is pretty large in my experience so you should be good with out loss of potency. but id be interested in hearing the results so keep us posted

I just re-read the portions of vine : admixture you mentioned: is it really 5:1? I'm really sorry I missed this earlier!

If it is premium pink/purple Mimosa... I personally drink about 3g mimosa per 100+g of Caapi. So, that's about 30:1 vine:mimosa, not 5:1. The only UNCOMFORTABLE journeys I have ever had were twice, experimental, where I tried something new and did not include enough vine to ground the experience. The results were not a voyage, but hours of discomfort with a tight chest wanting to panic and questioning my physical safety. Pacing up and down the block, wondering if I should call the hospital kind of misfire. Wanting to sit with my roommate for comfort, but the lights were so bright it made me want to scream.

The fact that the vine and the bark and brewed together could perhaps be saved--but the ratios, IMHO, are dangerously out of balance. I would cook a separate batch of straight Caapi to dilute the Mimosa. You can still use the old growth vine and enjoy whatever magic treasures are in there--teas made from multiple types of vines are BEAUTIFUL--but I strongly, respectfully caution against working with admixture at that ratio.

There is much more to Ayahuasca than just drinking enough to get MAOI'd (this comes around 20g for me); 4-5x beyond MAOI threshold intensifies the voice of the vine, and grounds what can be the sheer madness of the admixture world.

I've been to a place I called "Crazy Mimosa Land." It was like getting sucked underground... a dark place... too many eyes, bright eyes, too much in the outside world to open your eyes to escape the inner visions, that are absolutely maddening, and the experience of the dissolution and infinite looping of time... Mimosa has SO MUCH TO TEACH, but, dear lord, make sure Caapi is present to translate and enforce respectable plant/human psychograph boundaries.

It is unfortunate that you will have to take time to brew again, but taking that extra care to 1) save AMAZING materials and 2) respect the safety of your body/mind/spirit while in journey will pay off in the end.

This can all be fixed! Just add more Caapi!

OK, I respect your advice, I have plenty of Vine left over. How much more vine should I add and How shoul I go about dosing.

I could put another 500grams in there.

My problem is that 3 grams of MHRB doesnt do it for me.

I want to get this right. Please, I am open to any suggestions.

Personally, I would say rather brew the caapi separately... What is done is done, of course, but I think rather than adding more caapi and having so much of that beautiful caapi already permanently bound to the mimosa, maybe better brew the rest separately. Then when you drink, if the mimosa+caapi brew is not strong enough on caapi, you can drink some pure caapi before to adjust. And if you want the caapi+something else (like oral fumarate or vapping dmt), then you will have it separately without a problem.

My plan with the current brew was - A 4oz cup will be equal to 50 grams of caapi and 10 grams or mhrb.

Sooo, I could brew up another 500grams of the Caapi. I could drink, say 50mg of plain caapi and then dose on the original brew?

Does that sound about right? My plan is to dive in tomorrow. I have been drinking brew almost daily the last couple of weeks. I think I went light on the caapi and the mhrb when I prpared the last batch. I was drinking a brew that had a ratio of 40grams of caapi and 3 grams of mhrb per 4oz. I drank allot of the tea with noticable but minimal effects. I feel I am ready for what is to come.

Any help is apreciated.

Sounds perfect!! The same amount of Mimosa can hit you very differently at different levels of Caapi, which is why I recommend drinking lots of Caapi. I would also drink the plain Caapi first, just to get nice and MAO inhibited... then take the plunge.

Also, if you feel the need to increase the visuals at any point during the journey, you can always take a few more sips of the admixture-heavy brew. Just take care to have a good, solid foundation with the Caapi, and your voyages will be guided and protected. :)

More good news, the brew, if in a sterilized container, can even last 2-3 months in the fridge... so it's not like it will spoil. She may invite you to go deeper after your first journey, too. ;)

OK well, I have ground up another 500 grams and simmered and seperated and reduced 3x, close to being done. The End product will be a pure Caapi tea that should deliver 50grams worth of Caapi in a 2oz shot.

I should be able then to take a 2oz shot of the Caapi tea and 1 or more of the mimosa\caapi tea and get a decent effect. I am planning on testing this on Saturday evening.

I'll keep you posted.
