Pre-evap helps saturate the Naphtha so that it crashes out easily in the freezer

Makes sense. The putting 250ml of naphtha in one dish to do that doesnt.
Wouldn't it be much quicker to have at least 3 separate dishes so the solvent could evap quicker. By the 5th pull you're pretty much pulling crumbs. Having all that extra solvent in 1 container seems like it would only slow down the process and make it not as saturated in the end.

Absolutely, there wouldn't be any harm in pre-evaporating in more than one dish if that is what suits you. I typically do 5-6 pulls with 50ml each totaling 250-300ml. IME, evaporating 1/2 or up to 2/3 of the solvent in a glass dish with decent surface area doesn't take very long, especially if I use a fan. But to each their own, of course.

So here's my question.
Is it worth doing an evap before freezing rather than just freezing?
Are there any pros that make it significantly better?

Some evap until cloudy. Some just stick it straight in the freezer. Some argue that a slower reduction of temperature makes bigger crystals.

A more concentrated solution will tend to deposit smaller crystals, but your overall yield can be bigger. With less solvent in the freezer, more of the goods will crash out. Smaller crystals = more surface area = more impurities. Therefore, consider doing a recrystallisation afterwards.

But to each their own, of course.

NB Naphtha that's high in aromatics won't freeze precip...

As stated before, slightly over 1% yield is not low for mhrb. You just have average bark. The people who get 2-3% just have that dank rootbark.

I would suggest washing your glass with clear naphta every time you pour off the solution to make sure every bit of the dissolved product gets out.

With my acrb bark i did cybs twice and got maybe .4 total mostly goo. did 2 earthwalkers and now i have a total of 1.544 all together. Im still pretty excited and proud of my first extractions. The mini ab is great also, try it out see how it goes. It was a great improvment for me and glad i started with cybs, it helped me get the basic idea of everything.(also everyones tips and advise)

If you don't mind me asking, did you use Shellite? Xylene? Caustic Soda? I just recently acquired a
very small amount of some powdered Acacia Confusa and would like to make the most of it.

Do you prefer Cybs or Earthwalkers?

Prefer ew, last extract 100g acrb got .621white crystals, not counting any goo or powder. the bark isnt too great it seems but very happy w that

So as to avoid starting another thread on the same thing, would I be better off doing some lightly heated pulls with naptha or using a different solvents to try to pulls oxides? Had a batch yield 0.8% snow white spice and I suspect there is a LOT more still in the base soup. Figure it was probably some old acrb and a lot of the spice oxidized hence only 0.8% on my previous cold pulls. Figure the answer to this may help the OP aswell despite the different source materials.

done everything in a warm water bath, double boil method w o the boil lol. Not sure if thats helping the yields or not considering .6% yield was the last one. Still thinking its the acrb for that problem. Also havnt checked yet if the soup has been exhausted or not...

Just an update.

That jar with my discarded naptha resulted in another 200mg. So total yield was ~1.3g from 100 grams of bark. Not bad!

I'm currently Rxing the 200mg from the jar though as it was a bit yellow. Also, a good opportunity for me to try Rxing.

Tried the spice last night. 20mg in my GVG with Arc lighter resulted in a beautiful breakthrough. I think I may even be able to use 15mg as my breakthrough dose as last night I admittedly pussyfooted my inhale a bit. Ended up needing to take two hits to clear it all and I didn't hold the first one in as long as I should have. I think one strong 15mg hit, held in as long as possible with be enough for consistent breakthrough experiences. If that ends up being the case I'm looking at about 80 breakthrough doses. Stoked! 8)

Thats fantastic 20mg is the most attempted w gvg. Met a strange dancing giant cat who was creating the landscape...no breakthroughs yet. Lots of amazement though

Just shared with my good buddy. He's a bit taller and heavier than me and had mainly semi-breakthroughs in the past. 25mg, GVG, he took it all in one giant hit (I always finish what was not vaporized after I administer to others and there was nothing left) and held it like a champ for a solid 15 seconds. Let it out roaring, giggling and ahhhhhaaaing.

I left him by himself in this room (large and open, dark out side of a lit candle). He emerges 20 minutes later. Total and utter life-changing breakthrough for him! It was really cool to here his experience and how they related to not only my breakthrough last night but my prior breakthroughs, as well as the differences. All in all - a good Sunday! Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there!

Hey im new to the group here sorry for throwing this comment out i cant make my own post quite yet i just pulled 2 dishes out there still evap right now but the one dish looks like a low yeild both used with 100g of mimosa the one dish looks to have about .80 if i was to guess and the other one is only maybe .45 again im sorry for asking its not my post to put this on theres was some water drops i did have to get out prior to could that have bin the problem that i took some of the dmt out with it when i was getting rid of the water

Please detail step-by-step what you did and what you observed; by all accounts 1.25% from MHRB isn't at all bad (see below). Or did you mean 45mg + 80mg? Unless you actually weighed the product, the question is worthless.

Using punctuation, or at least a line break for new sentences, will help to make your posts clearer.
Also, this is an old thread - when you have some clear figures don't be afraid to post your own new question or check the forum index for which of the Active Topics that question might be more relevant to.
