First Time Here, First Time AC Extraction

Hey All:

I'm a Newbie here.
I've been out of the "extraction" sphere for 5 or 6 years.
When I realized that Mimosa was seemingly "unobtanium", I started researching alternatives.
Lo and behold, I realized, living on the small island that I do, there seemed to be a prolific amount of an Acacia.
After reading as much as I could (or could tolerate), I went out in search of AC Root Bark.
Procuring a Kg or so? I have proceeded down the line of an A/B extraction.
Currently I'm waiting on the first results, which I expect will take a week to really assay the results.

The second "pull" (freezer/precip) is looking very interesting. However, due to the high humidity, it will be 3-4 days before the hoped for crystals will be dry enough to sample.

The first "Room Temperature pull" is still drying. I'm awaiting crystalization formation. 36 hours and counting: currently a clear gel.

After another day or so, if everything goes as planned, I will do a third "Pull" off the main jug, and start another freezer/Precip cycle.

If there are still active crystals, I will do a final "Rock Salt" step, warming the "Mother Jug" and find out whats left, if anything?

I'm excited about my first AC extraction, because, if I'm successful, I have an almost infinite supply of Acacia that is basically considered a bloody pest here!!!

Further cleaning or an alternate method may be necessary as many AC extractions do not result in crystals but in a tan oil or gel as described. This has been the volunteer's experience as well. Was heat applied during the process and at what stages? The volunteer is curious whether heating causes more plant oils to contaminate the product with a classical A/B extraction or if the high NMT content of AC is the cause of the oily product. Has the gel darkened? According to the volunteer potency declined sharply after the 4th pull.

Acacia Confusing Extraction Update:

The first pull, Non-freezer extacted, is slowly drying. Its STIIL a goo, but maybe showing signs of crystalization (wishful thinking maybe?)

2nd Pull: A clear gel after 2 days

3rd Pull: Ditto

4th Pull: after 3 days in the freezer, set on COLD! After pouring off the Naphtha, very clear grouping of clear crystals.

Encouraged by these results, decided on a 5th pull, with the addition of 100 grams rock salt, AND a bit of the Naptha from a MHRB extarction from 3 years ago, for the hell of it! The jug was pre-heated to 130F, then gently stirred/rolled for 5 minutes. The jug is now sitting still, quiet, and slowly clearing. Later tonite, or 1st thing in da manana, WHEN its ready, I will suck -it-up, and freezer extract.

Hopefully, pull #1, #2, #3, and #4 will X-Talize after a week sequentially.

IF NOT? Then on to further chemistry, which means HELP!! from you all. I may NEED IT!!!

OK: The picture above is from the 4th pull.
The crystals are melting to the same "GEL", at room temperature
(High Humidity, Hi-Lo Temp 85 to 72 degrees)
Again, its a waiting game.
With MHRB, by this time?
Pull 1 and 2 would show clear signs of crystalization, however slight, but unmistakeable.
I'm still hopeful? Como no!
Entonces, vamos a ver.

OK: To answer your questions:

The first pull was hot, VERY HOT. I forgot how much heat the Sodium Hydroxide contributed to the mixture, which was already quite hot from the acid extraction step.
The pull was clear. Crystals formed, Naptha was poured back into the Jug.

2nd Pull: Distilled water added to bring naptha level to top of jug. Jug was heated to 130 degrees, rolled and gently tumbled for 5 minutes. After naptha layer cleared, was pulled and freezer/precipitated.

3rd pull: poured gently into glass dish. Placed in freezer. remaining naptha poured into jug, warm distilled water added to bring naptha layer to top of jug- 4th Pull: After clearing, the layer was pulled and placed into a glass dish, and put into freezer.

5th pull: Jug was placed in warm bath, heated to 130 degrees F, 100g rock salt added, jug was rotated, rolled for 5 minutes.

Awaiting results!!

So far, I've pulled 4 times. the results are all clear.

But until crystals form, it ain't over!

Here's hoping for good crystals, but if not I will instruct the volunteer to do his next extraction lukewarm to see if it makes a difference in the amount of oil (or other unknown contaminants) pulled with the DMT. If the gel has not darkened significantly it is most likely contamination and will probably need further cleaning with naphtha to produce good crystals.

OK:
The 1st and 2nd pulls remain perfectly clear gels.
The 3rd pull is slightly discolored, but with the surprise of a small grouping of crystals, probably DMT.
The 4th & 5th pulls are progressively yellower gels.

The 6th pull simply evaporated away.

Maybe I used excessive heat during the extraction.
My success with MHRB was with a crock pot, at a lower temp., I assume.
Although I kept the temp of the ACRB extraction below 180F, it still boiled...

How to proceed?
Re-dissolve the first two pulls in warm naptha, and combine, and then freezer precipitate?

A guide on recrystallization. The volunteer never heats above 140F, it's simply unnecessary. As always, good luck and prudence.
