Hi, SWIM is looking to do a 1kg acacia confusa extraction using the dmt handbook guide. SWIN had one question about this extraction:
1. In the section where Swim is told to add the sodium hydroxide, it states that one must add 100 grams of sodium hydroxide. Doesn't that amount seem to small for a 1kg extraction?
To find procedure: Type dmt handbook in Google search bar and select the very first one. it is a pdf file.

that is incredibly low.
typically it ranges from a ratio of 3:4 (base:bark) to 1:1
i highly recommend starting with a small test extraction, if this is your first time (it will maximize efficiency anyways)

I don't know. You could get litmus paper or a digital ph measurerer or whatever to make sure it's based way up. It probably doesn't need to be based more than 11, which sodium carbonate will acheieve, but lye can go up to almost 14 I think, which is plenty. You could just base until you feel that there is no longer a strong reaction between water and base.
As far as I know, basing it higher does not make it more extractable, but higher ph definitely does not make it less extractable, so there's no problem adding more.
Anyway, 100g does seem small for 1kg. How high the ph goes depends on how much water you have. The more water, the more base you need to up the overall ph.

I'm having a similar issue but I didn't use acetone. With 1lb A. Confusa using more or less Marsofold a/b extraction, I can only get oily crystals that melt at room temperature. I read that this could be solved by turning your pyrex over, allowing the naptha to drain, placing in dessiscant chamber, etc...
Well, the oil is definitely dmt that I'd like to make into changa but a new issue has developed.
Ever since I added warm naptha from a hot water bath, it has turned a reddish color like you're describing. A partial immulsion I believe. I precipitated out some pink DMT from it which I am weary of using without re-crystallizing/cleaning.
I've sucked up this pink naphtha and I'm starting again with fresh. Saving the pink liquid in a jar to see if it settles...

I dropped my beloved GVG some weeks ago by accident, and it shattered completely due to the concrete, except for the replacement top.. Of course I couldn't resist buying a new one, so I ordered a new one the next day, but kept the replacement top from the broken one in case I should run out of luck again with the new one..
I noticed a slight difference when I received it, and I definitely also feel a small difference.. Seems like there's a more "focused blast" on my choreboy setup with the new top, allowing for better/smoother vaporization, when comparing the two.. With the old pipe/top I'd usually spend 5-7 seconds before producing a big plume of vapor when vaping 20-25mg crystals in one breath, which only takes me 2-3 seconds now (when getting it right), and maximum 4 seconds.. Really really nice, makes for a great experience when trying to master the GVG - The better, the more fun I guess the excess glass on the old top must absorb/"de-route" the heat somehow (can't figure out what else it might be), because the stone in both tops have equal distance to the bowl in the pipe itself. The stones still have the same size, of course..
My old (and first) GVG was only 2.5 to 3 months old, so I guess it's a pretty fresh upgrade A very minor improvement/change, but still worth sharing.. Sorry if it has already been mentioned :roll:

So SWIM has some syrian rue and b.caapi shredded root , but never use them , and wanted to know what he can do with them...Does the root work like the leafs?

As a noob 1st timer SWIM , wants to know after harvesting mushrooms from grow kit and putting them in an air tight glass bowl on paper towels with silica gel(to absorb the humidity) under them but not touching them a course it is ok for drying ?or bad?and does he eats the cap only or the foot can be eaten as well(when fresh or dried)?

is it possible to smoke DMT by putting some amount on the bottom of an empty syrup bottle (amber glass i think, or at least the colour), closing the cap and heating the DMT from the bottom with a lighter, wait till it starts to vaporize and then just open cap and take a hit?
Some people sucessfully smoke DMT from a pipe, and also seen methods involving a bottle end cut and replaced with tin foil and DMT placed there and heated from the bottom with a lighter - the guy in the video claimed it works pretty well.
What is about the metal that seems to make effective DMT smoking methods,? What about the glass?

Just wondering if anyone has been having the same problems as me...
I used to be able to experience DMT wonderfully on its own. However, the last few months, I have been unable to trip fully on DMT alone.
I get what I call, the DMT haze (kind of like a static/noise that is added to my vision), and a rush when inhalling, but next to 0 psychadellic experiences.
I can ONLY experience vaped DMT while under the influence of Harmala's, but even that can be a little hit or miss.
I haven't tried pharma to see if that works for me, but I believe it would.
I do not believe it's my current extracted batch, as a number of close friends have tried it with great success.
I hope i am not alone here.

I had a similar situation with oral dmt. After a couple of failed brew attempts, I did find the "sweet spot" and had an extremely deep, oob experience with full on ego death. After this I really wanted to get back to that place and was brewing every day like a crazy man..but the experiences were only hazy, non-breakthrough journeys. The materials and brew recipe were exactly the same. I finally decided to take a couple of weeks off. After this break, I was once again allowed some deeper journeys.
