I just want to express gratitude. Thank you to everyone who contributes to this community, both past and present. To those who contributed in the past, I'm only beginning to scratch the surface of the vast library of knowledge you've left behind. That includes discussion posts, links to books and literature, artwork, and so much more. Reading through posts from over the years, I realize how much this forum has changed and that people have experienced those changes differently. Some of those changes seem to have been difficult. I understand that. The forum may not be what it used to be, but I trust that it is what I need in this moment.
To the people who are active now, thank you so much for just being here. Before experiencing DMT, I had heard about it and read a few experience reports. But I really had no idea. I didn't know anyone I could talk to about it, and even now, the few people I know who have experienced it aren't particularly interested in discussing it. So I'm kinda out here alone when it comes to having people in my everyday life who share this interest and understand these experiences. That's part of what makes this community so valuable to me.
When I read about your experiences, whether they're about DMT, consciousness, or something else entirely, I often recognize something of my own experience in yours. I value the differences, too, but there's something special about discovering those similarities. It's like seeing myself in the mirror of you and realizing I'm not so alone. But it's more than that. I see a community of people who are passionate about this molecule, who are willing to explore consciousness, question things, grow, and have conversations that aren't always possible elsewhere. I see people being vulnerable, sharing experiences that can be incredibly difficult to put into words, and being willing to listen to one another. I don't quite know how to describe what that gives me. A sense of belonging? Connection? Love? Maybe all of those things. I just want to say that I'm grateful for each and every one of you.
