Hi All.
I am a South African ethnobotanist who has researched African psychoactive plants and have just published my book on Amazon. I have a passion to research and try African medicinal plants and have had extensive field work experience in learning about the plants and their effects. Im eager to discuss African species of interest with the community here.
My book can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/African-Psyc...680892191&sprefix=african+psyc,aps,757&sr=8-1
Kindest Regards
JFS

Welcome to The Nexus!

What are the main ethnootanicals used in Africa? I´m not sure how much you have also studied South American herbalism/shamanism but are there any interesting differences you have seen between the two continents, apart from the choice of plants of course?

Do you have any experience with DMT or ayahuasca?

Be well

Hi sileneundulata. Welcome to the Nexus.

Are you very familiar with Synaptolepis kirkii the "African dream root" ? I use it on some nights to try and invoke lucid dreaming.

sileneundulata,

Welcome to the Nexus.

The main African medicine discussed here is iboga root bark and ibogaine as far as I know. But obviously there are so many more.

I know I will be fascinated by any future posts you make.

Again, welcome.

Welcome to the Nexus..I'm familiar with some of your work, great that you are here..very much look forward to your contributions...there is still so much to learn about African flora and usage..Are you doing any work with the San (Saan) people?
Well wishes...N
