what do you mean, growing mhrb too big? explain better... did you use dried powdered mhrb? how much water per g of mhrb per g of caustic soda? how strong did you shake? explain more and maybe we can help
if you harvested it yourself you probably should make sure its completely dry before extracting. i dont know if this is an issue for mimosa but it sounds like a practical thing to do. if it is still oily even after a period of dehydration you probably need to defat it using naphtha before basifying your mimosa solution.
