Research Haphazard Leonotis Administration Thread

Research done by (or for) the DMT-Nexus community
I jumped to conclusions in my other comment based on what I've read on a certain wikipedia page—Leonotis nepetifolia might not actually contain much leonurine compared to Leonurus spp. Therefore, I actually have no idea what could be causing the relaxing effect that is most apparent after consuming tea or full-spectrum resin. As of this moment, my best guess is that luteolin glycosides (like 7-O-β-glucoside luteolin "cynaroside") could be responsible for anxiolytic effects, since they are hydrophilic and have a glucose moiety (pertains to my previous comment: "Perhaps klip dagga flowers contain too high a concentration of compounds that end in '-ose'?"). These would likely metabolize to the GABA-A modulator/inhibitor luteolin. Serendipitous, since earlier this week I was studying luteolin as a PDE4 inhibitor (PDE inhibition might be relevant to how caffeine potentiates other psychoactive compounds).

What further supports this idea: I recently noticed significantly more potency after swallowing extract used for sublingual administration. Holding resin in my mouth for an hour had me questioning my ability to determine placebos, but it definitely kicked in once I washed everything down with water (~60 minutes later on a full stomach).

I'll try to collect some wild Leonurus cardiaca—which definitely contains leonurine—to see how they compare.
