İn my own wild local plants experimentations, İ have found the synergy of artemisia taurica (high thujone content) and salvia absconditiflora (low salvinorin a content) to be extraordinary. Just eating fresh material of both.

this is actually my favorite nexus thread since the moment of its inception. the sheer coolness of making oral salvia makes my inner drug nerd happi. I also love 5-meo thread.

blazing a new trail in the salvia world. Who knows how this tek will have been improved in say... a few years?

also, to stu and transform, isent it wild how many systems alcohol can affect/influence?

such a dirty drug lol. when i rarely drink, i feel like im drinking gaba soup

Qualitatively, ime beer feels 'dirty' with salvia, whereas she seemed to get on far, far better with absinthe (made with my own recipe). Whether this is purely down to the alcohol - besides the metabolic inhibition, absorption would be enhanced with stronger drinks - or if the difference is compounded by the admixture plants, well, I guess I should dig up that absinthe recipe so we can take a look.

I wonder if that's related to GABA? Sometimes wormwood extract makes me feel depressed.

Making a sub-perceptual tea from a few salvia leaves—or dropping tincture into a glass of water—does seem to produce some sort of mood effect that I quite enjoy. I recently found a reference to using tea for inducing dreams, and microdoses of Salvine will do the same. Perhaps one of the other salvinorins is still psychoactive enough to be felt at quantity? The most powder I've taken without bioavailability enhancers is 4g. Maybe I should eventually try 8g without phospholipids.

The species of salvia I work with apparently has gabaergic properties, along with ache inhibitory properties. I am not well versed in the theory yet.

Most chemotypes of artemisia taurica also make me depressed. Artemisia vulgaris does also, even more intensely. And it's not just a general feeling. The feelings from problems in my life causing emotional pain just get highly intensified. İnterestingly, I found one chemotype of artemisia taurica that gives me pure euphoria. This one tastes purely (intensely) bitter while the other ones have other hints, including sweetness.

I’m very happy you feel this way, though it’s starting to seem like I’m out of my depth.

Most of my closest friends are not interested in psychedelics, I’m not a trained facilitator, I barely have money left to throw at random compounds, and potentially exciting developments are outside my ability to engage with (many pharmaceutical excipients don’t ship to residential addresses and sonicators are expensive). I was lucky to even get a small shipment of relatively pure phosphatidylcholine.

I’m happy to keep updating the tek and testing—recently played around with glycerol monostearate—but improvements from here on out will be modest.

Best case scenario is that I find a potent CES1 inhibitor (unlikely) or discover a natural / accessible formulation that can be taken all at once.

How would a caveman invent a SEDDS?

Next CES1 inhibitors to test are St. John’s wort and THCA.

Still have yet to release V02.01 (WIP). I feel as though many people are confused by the excess of complex information, so I'd like to separate out the essential bits and design an index.

Managed to finally get a used hotplate with magnetic stirrer. I can finally dissolve purified phosphatidylcholine in oil without laboring over a stove top for several hours. The current plan is to formulate a "Salvine Syrup"—this will be the alternate guide for folks who are comfortable extracting pure salvinorin A and desire a more pleasant and predictable experience.

Good point.

The emulsion did eventually come together, and this formulation worked so well that only a thin layer of larger brown particles settled at the bottom—running it for ~90 minutes may have been unnecessary. In a day or two I’ll take 10ml (surfactants, oil, ~500mg salvia powder, 500mg phosphatidylcholine) with ~16oz water on a relatively empty stomach.
