Hello and my greetings to you all!

I just had my best FB extract from MH... the ratio of alkaloids to the original product's weight was, no shit, 1%
2.5g from 250g. Everything is going just as well as it can.
I do have some trepidation over my fumaric acid conversion coming up soon here. I have never tried that one before, but lucky for me it seems to be extremely simple... Now if anyone could give me pointers on the harmala extract from syrian rue, it would be greatly appreciated.

Have a good week!
Brian R

Welcome to the Nexus and Congrats on your successful extraction!

The Tao of Rue is a one stop shop for extracting from Syrian Rue.

Be sure to read all of the notes and references before you begin as it helps to wrap your head around the whole process. It's a lot more in-depth than extracting from MHRB but it's worth the extra effort for sure.

Thank you, MelCat!

That particular document was the one I was leaning towards since I began to take a look at the process. I would like to attach some pictures of my handiwork and get some feedback based in experience with this subject... Is that something that is allowed? I understand that there are restrictive rules that go along with membership to a forum such as this. Just wanna ask first, instead of get somebody mad later.

Cordially yours ~

While i'm in no position of authority to say its kosher, people do it all the time and its actually a great contribution as it adds clarity to just text based documentation of the process. Feel free to log/document/take images throughout the process and share them, you are breaking no rules. Just be careful about exif data in pics, and objects in pics that may identify you.

Tao of rue all the way. IMHO it beats a simple salt manske to a pulp. Just filter well before initial basification of your concentrated tea. Then again after dissolving the freebase in acidic water.

I won't describe the whole process, just a few tips that i found extremely uselful regarding the tao rue tek.

And welcome to hyperspace, i wish you prosperity and growth in all your journeys, entheogenic or not.

Good luck on your extraction, don't hesitate to ask questions if you are confused by the process.

Hey, right on, Day Tripper. I appreciate the info/encouragement! It's nice to know there are still people out there who share the same fascination that I do. Thank you for the offer to answer questions I may have. I'll do my damnedest to figure it out before bothering one of y'all.

Best regards,
Brian R

Brian, Tao of Rue extraction is currently taking place in one's kitchen and many insights are coming forth well before the final product has been achieved. Most significantly, if lye turns you off, as it does me, one may find that using lime (pickling lime/slaked lime [CaOH]) is FAR superior to using washing soda [NaCO3] with regard to yeild/purity/ease of filtration.

Day Tripper's suggestion to read all threads referenced in the Tao of Rue is paramount for a stress free extraction. Definitely do not underestimate importance of filtration and patience in waiting for things to settle. It is advisable that additional gradients of filtration be added during the first filtration. Window screen then cotton/cheese cloth will help alot before starting with cotton balls.

One has been confused, until just now, about step 5's instruction to re-dissolve alks in hot water/vinegar, since the product did not look like the picture in either Tao or Harmala Extraction and Separation Guide. Key...Let it Settle! A Joyous discovery. Off to proceed. Blessings, Earthling. May Happy results be-stowed upon you.

{EDITED} As the process continues, doubts have been eliminated ^ Also, adding vinegar to help manske salt-crystals dissolve is supported. Cross-reference! reactions and products may resemble images of those in one tek much more closely than another.
