Whoa, if we're talking about LSD too the list of accomplishments is far and wide... the most important, computers. I've read many pioneer say the advanced graphics industry was essentially born due to lsd, all the early teams tripped balls for ideas. We know 60's and early 70's rock and roll was pure lsd, and that's why rock totally sucks right now. We can also deduce much art and literature was done under or due to the influence.. which would explain why most art and literature is about war and crime and other putrid parts of conscious experience now, in a time of relative peace.
I personally think the war on drugs killed modern culture, it destroyed thinking WAY outside the box, now outside the box really means slightly odd but still inside the set parametres.
As for DMT, I think it's up to us to figure out what it's good for. It's incredible for raising seretonin or whatever it does that lifts my spirits, and I know it's good for sparking thoughts about science/physics/chemistry/supernatural/metaphysics... i would guess within a setting it might be good for memory, perhaps waking up photographic memory abilities, perception enhancements, etc...
Hey, i'll tell you salvia cured me from a world of ills on it's first dose.. by re-awakening long lost memories my entire life was put into context. Basically i remembered early early baby memories, and by pinpointing those early memories and how the people around me were, i could see how i turned into who i was... many questions were answered.
