Cant post in the smoking section yet :/ But really wanted to share these with everyone. It uses a pummus like stone to absorb your oils- for me hash oil or deem. Use a torch lighter to melt it down into stone then just hit the stone with the torch.

this is the exact one i have, got it at the LHS for 120. Love Green House Glass RVA.

As far as heating goes the stone doesnt stay hot long enough for that kind of action. As long as your using hi grade filtered butane - Mines like 9 times - I wouldnt worry about it. If you spray your butane on glass and it evaps away and leaves a residue you can worry. If it evaps and leaves clean glass your in the clear.

As far as how smooth it is, nothing compares. I use it to take fatty dabs, and its almost as good as a rig and I swear its more efficient. For deem its the smoothest thing ive tried, better then my liqour bottle mini machine. Also any dab that goes through it taste better purged then if it went through a rig.

As far as sizes. I do belive the sizes correlate. 18mm , 14 mm. They wont go in your bong slide they are GONG sizes. So I belive if you have a bong that takes 18mm or 14mm you could just by the stone and it would go in place of the slide. Not sure about this but Im going by my LHS later today and Ill check to make sure.

I dont have any personal use of the GVG so Im not sure on that end. The stone in this makes it awesome for freebase, it would be pretty void for changa use.

The "stones" are the same as used in the GVG's. The only difference is that with the GVG the "stone" is used as a heat regulator and the material to be vaped is actually located beneath the "stone", whereas these other setups place the material directly onto the "stone" and use the porous nature of the "stone" as filter or screen. Using the GVG gives much cleaner and heat regulated hits where as using the "stone" as a screen can easily overheat and burn the material instead of vaping it cleanly. To each his own. They both work.

Here is a less expensive set up that should work in a water pipe or an Erbo pipe like I use. I have been looking for something similar that works the way the GVG does, to use the "stone" above the material as a heat regulator to get really clean vapes while also using a hydrofuge effect like the Erbo does to filter through water as well. The erbo uses a computer fan to spin the smoke or vapor at high speed through water in order to filter it much more efficiently than a bong or other water pipes. Works really well with regular combustible smoke and even better with vaped material.

Didnt know that about the GVG. I went this route mainly because I owned one but also no shops near me carried the GVG. Ive vaped alot of errl out of it, I dont know about burning material. The material is melted into the stone first before the actual hit, so if you start away with the flame and move closer you wont burn anything.

Sounds good. You seem to be getting similar results to a GVG and regulating your own heat to try not to burn the material. I'd say if it is not broken, don't fix it. The "stones" are a welcome addition, wish they would have had these years ago. If you like cannabis, there is nothing better than properly extracted and purged honey oil or shatter glass.
