What else did you do during the exraction? Other factors can influence goo formation, like amount of lye in the 'soup', the temperature, and how long the basic soup sat before the naphtha pulls were taken.

The composition of the naphtha may or may not have influenced the outcome, but it would still be useful to be able to compare the data sheets for both products. You should be able to find these SDS's online.

Now, with that addressed, you can sort out your goo either by using it for making changa, or run it through a mini A/B process for at least a chance of getting it to crystallise.

From what you describe, it’s probably not just the solvent but a combination of factors — things like temperature, how long the base sat, or even slightly different impurities in the solvent can all push it toward goo instead of crystals. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}

A couple of things you can try:

- Let it sit longer and see if it slowly solidifies (sometimes it does over time)
- Gentle re-x (warm solvent, then slow cooling) can help clean it up
- If it stays gooey, a mini A/B is usually the most reliable way to recover cleaner material

You’re on the right track though — everyone runs into this at some point 👍
At some point, AI-shaming will become a thing. Maybe even now.
