TEK HIELO Explained

This topic contain a TEK
Migrated topic.
Indeed, this seems like under-used and under developped approach ; i'm a fan of dry tek, but D-limonene went x5 in price and not so easy to source ; this sounds wonderful !

So, do we know if EA pulls the full spectrum ?
then it doesn't matter which acid we use, no ?
but maybe some stuff would not precipitate as goo ? (like in CIELO, there's other stuff, but we get pure crystal, and leave whatever else behind)
So vinegar could be a solution ; in a way i find it easier to just separate 2 fluids than trying to collect goo from a jar... and vinegar sounds fail proof to me !

Sounds like a plan - I can well imagine EA will pull polymer, NMT and MTHBC, if that's what you mean by full spectrum. My conclusion comes from the way EA has solvent properties more similar to xylene or limonene than to naphtha, so it'll certainly give a more broad-spectrum product.

I did some trial, followed the TEK as is
I splitted the solvent in 2 , half i salted with citric acid and left to rest for 24h
The other i put in the magnetic stirrer for 24h with some vinegar

Yield : 0.45% DMT-citrate
0.55% DMT-acetate

Clearly something didn't went well ; my MHRB isn't in POWDER ; i got it in chips and passed it through a mill ; it end up as a mix of powder/ fine fibers. I generally get 1.7% FREEBASE if i use Limonene. But i also generally do a vinegar soak before.
So either the vinegar soak is important; or limonene has a much more penetrating force. More test needed, with vinegar soaking, or just comparing with D-lim in the same conditions.

But i'm surprise that i got that much from the acetate (nearly double, as citrate is heavier) ; so i'm also questionning that.
