Amidst a heated debate about the virtues of The Matrix it was concluded that the ending would happen in such a way that Neo would abruptly die. The screen would cut to black with the words Game Over on the screen followed by a mother screaming at her kids to freshen up for dinner and turn the game off.

I'm also a fan of the "it's just a bunch of cyberpunk nerds playing a new D&D adaptation" ending.
