How would i know if solvents are still in some dmt?

Good day. If someone had a bunch of dmt in a little jar, from which they've smoked multiple times, would it be possible for any solvents or evaporates to be present in there?

Pardon me if i am using terms incorrectly...but I read a thing that said there could be some naphtha or other evaporate agent in the dmt and a single toke could kill you...

How could one test this? As far as I understand, reagent tests do not test for such things.

If the batch has been smoked multiple times, without issue, then it is extremely unlikely that there is anything left in there that will be a problem.
Naptha contains various hydrocarbons, some of which take longer to evaporate, but if you've not extracted the spice yourself, and don't know what's been used, simply leaving the jar open for a while, maybe with a fan blowing over it (careful not to blow the spice away!), any remaining hydrocarbons will dissipate.
Yes, there is danger to smoking solvent, but if there was enough solvent in your spice to kill you in one hit, it would stink to high heaven.
A good rule of thumb is that if you can't smell any solvent, it is fine to smoke.

I don't know what solvents smell like. I certainly wouldnt say it "stinks to high heaven". I've heard dmt stinks like chemicals. I guess I would somewhat agree...I guess...but I also somewhat like the smell.

Leaving it out with a fan blowing... this won't kill the potency? How long would you recommend? 24 hours? A week? Should I just keep it without a lid from now on?

I really ought to learn more about this stuff...

Hmm. I suppose you could say it smells floral...

I looked up "sweet indole" and it basically said "floral" lol. What do you mean "spunk"?

Describing smells is a funny thing.

Solvent smells like lighter fluid, paint thinners, maybe gasoline, that sort of thing.

"Spunk" is semen ( or courage and determination, but I don't know what that smells like ) , personally I've never thought DMT smelled anything like that though.

To me DMT smells like jasmine, or "fresh sneakers" is also a good one that is often used. It's the sort of strength where you have to open up the jar and sniff directly to spot it, it doesn't notice from any distance away.

Just to add: if "a single toke could kill you" then all the workers who use naphtha daily for degreasing would be dropping like flies or have much much more PPE on than they do.

Certainly a lung full of the pure fumes of the wrong solvent could be the last you take, so don't huff solvents, but a little bit is not worth stressing over and potentially sending your trip in a bad direction due to your state of mind.

I'm not worried about a bad trip - I'm worried about it killing me

The last time I smoked dmt was by far the hardest/deepest...the first thought I could manage was "oh shit I've killed myself". I spent the rest of it trying to get my bearings and figure out what or where or what the heck this was...I couldn't really think, however. There was a tiny thought or something that said 'you smoked dmt' to which I could seem to reply that 'it's never been like this before'.

When I felt like I was "back to normal" and could finally manage to think properly, the visuals were still stronger than any shroom or lsd trip I've ever had. The trees were as gears of a clock, the colors were more vibrant than I've ever seen them before...I thought 'I guess that's what a breakthrough is'... (since then I don't think it was a full breakthrough but I guess I don't know)

From pure astonishment I didnt speak a word out loud for the rest of the night.

Ive never told anyone this before.

"New sneakers" does seem more like it.

Also, limes + corn tortillas. There's this awesome little taco joint by my house. Whenever I eat there I always think my fingers smell like dmt.

If you end up still worried (you probably don't have to be), redisolve in IPA or grain alcohol and re evaporate. They're both pretty benign, especially grain alcohol.

I'll have to look up how to do this. I plan to try a full extraction at some point. Right now I'm poor af so it'll have to wait.

Only thing is that's you'll endup with goo/oil this way, perfectly fine if the intention is to make EL or changa, or have appropriate way of dosing and smoalking the goo.
