I got crystals forming, is it too late to do a wash?

Sorry for being a thread starting whore.....

......but i am hoping for a quick answer on this one as time is of the essence.

I have delayed whether or not to give my DMT extractions a Sodium Carbonate Wash.

I now have crystals forming in the jars, am I too late to wash the naphtha?

What tek are you using?

started of with LexTeks until I discovered that my pH Meter was telling me porkies.

So I am at the point where I have the DMT base dissolved into naptha solution in a couple of jars.....

......and the DMT is starting to form crystals within the solution....

......I am now applying heat to the jars in order to get rid of the crystals so that I can do a wash. Hopefully this is an ok thing to do.

Yes for sure...assuming the heat is pretty low and there are no open flames: solvents are usually flammable.

No STB? Never done any A/B's, but seems messy. A proper STB needs no wash, and freeze precip FTW.

Yes its too late... Washing crystals isnt very effective because it only washes superficially. Let it finish crystallizing and then re-x, if you want.

Before I read this post, I dunked the jars in a sink full of hot water which seemed to dissolve the crystals which were forming.

Perhaps it was only a superficial wash, but it certainly eliminated all of the 'caramel' gunk which was still present in the solution. However, the colour of the liquid was still quite yellow after the wash, just without any floaters/scum.
