I got tagged to this thread and quickly scanned but did not deep read.
Hmm since we are talking about hypertension meds anyone know if Amlodipine (I think it's a calcium channel blocker) which has brought my BP down to a gorgeous 121/60 is safe with DMT?
It is worth noting that during the first minute or two of a DMT trip, I can FEEL the jacked up heart rate and blood pressure effect.
@Tracer58921,
Sounds like you are going through multi-pronged issues. I think the only advice I can offer is patience, information and honesty. I would hope if your marriage is strong these things could get you through.
Patience with your wife. This is a process/journey for her as well as yourself. What is the end goal of her journey (just between you and me)? It is acceptance of your new behaviors.
For YEARS every time something went wrong in our relationship my husband immediately blamed my DMT use. I finally had to confront him about how his role in things was way bigger than a molecule which among other things removed my fear of death and allowed me to live so many years not spending so much time obsessing on it, allowed me to truly LIVE. I'm not recommending this but personally it yielded the results I sought. Less criticism.
Real world
information about how safe the molecule is, that it is endogenous within us, that more than one USA city has completely decriminalized it and more may follow, that the DEA does not give a damn about it unless you are dealing weight, that real research has been done on real research subjects in the modern era and though some had difficult experiences and one had a spike in BP, all were fine in the end.
Honesty. Honesty is so important (and sometimes very difficult) in an intimate relationship. Why do you want to work with psychedelics? Look deep inside. It does not matter what your answer is. It could be existential issues. It could be (related to the first) religious issues. It could be that you have not gotten very far with therapy and are hoping these medicines from the ancient world might help. It could be you are looking for a new way to get high. It could be curiosity about the contents and workings of the human mind. This small list is just the tip of the iceberg as to why folks use these medicines/drugs.
Whatever your answer is, be honest about it with your wife.
I certainly wish you only the best. Yours is not an easy path.
