Important Question (Naptha+rubber)?

Okay, so I finally decided to try out q21q21's tek and it's super easy! I did a test run with 50g and I went ahead and did a pull and stuck the container in the freezer. I was busy the next couple days so it's was in the freezer for 2-3 days and I checked occasionally and saw a bunch of crystals floating and stuck to the sides. Great and it was only my first pull!

Well... today before I went out this morning I checked the crystals by opening the lid and seeing how I am going to pour the naptha without pouring the crystals (it naturally sticks to the side so it wasn't that bad). I think I inadvertently messed up the rubber seal and part of the rubber seal of a pyrex glass baking container became submerged in the naptha. By this point all of the crystals have precipitated and crystallized.

Later that afternoon I planned on pouring the naptha out and I noticed the part of the rubber inside and submerged in the naptha. The crystals looked normal but the only thing different was the rubber part that was submerged became elongated and bigger so that when I tried to refit the seal it would not fit. None of the rubber seems to have been dissolved but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

So...

Crystals seems fine
Rubber is elongated and bigger
Went ahead and poured the naptha out and let the crystals out to dry

Is this batch no good? Or did I save it in time to prevent any rubber from degrading into the solution?

If it's no good, is there way I can purify the crystals so I don't have to waste it? Or is this a lesson learned and into the trash? Do I throw out the naptha too?

Thank you!
I really didn't expect my first time ever doing a tek going this smoothly and of course this shit happens...

Sorry let me clarify

+0:00 - Went and opened the lid, see crystals floating around and went ahead and closed the lid

+4:00 - Prepared to seperate the naptha from the crystals and noticed rubber seal in naptha elongated and some of the crystals stuck to it. Went ahead and poured out the naptha and let the crystals dry.

+5:00 - Became worried that maybe the rubber might have contaminated the pull

according to what may be a misinterpretation of what benzyme said, the crystal matrix wouldn't form if it were contaminated.

but if you are worried a re-x with fresh naphtha is probably the smart (read:safe) decision.

To re-x, you want to put your spice into a small glass vessel, and put some naphtha in a glass jar so it can be heated up via a heath bath on your stove. Be sure to leave the lid off of whatever contains the naphtha so it can vent. You only want to use enough naphtha to cover the spice, the ratio is 30-40ml of naphtha to 1g of spice for a re-crystalization.

Once the naphtha is fully heated up (it should be hot), pour it carefully (the jar will be hot) over your spice so it can melt down. While doing this, any impurities will separate and fall to the bottom. You then need to carefully decant or transfer the DMT saturated naphtha (without disturbing any of the impurities which should have separated away to the bottom of whatever your spice mix is in), into something so the spice can re-crystallize, like another small glass dish that will be easy to scrape.

I find this logic questionable - I chimed in the thread here when that statement was made, and my comment has not yet been challenged.

It's hard for anyone to say really just based off reading.

Is it? Probably not and hopefully not. Will doing a re-x hurt? No not at all. So if it is contaminated, re-x will purify it. If it isnt contaminated and you re-x anyway, no real harm done. It's likely to purify it regardless.

I'd like to point out that a simple recrystalization won't necessarily remove soluble rubber impurities, since they will just dissolve in the new naphtha and could be incorporated into the recrystalized DMT. Better would be to take the solid dry DMT and redissolve it in acidic water, base, and then pull again with fresh naphtha. Best would be to dissolve the DMT in acetone, precipitate with fumaric-acid saturated acetone, then dissolve the DMT fumarate in water and base and pull again with clean naphtha.
