Okay, so I finally decided to try out q21q21's tek and it's super easy! I did a test run with 50g and I went ahead and did a pull and stuck the container in the freezer. I was busy the next couple days so it's was in the freezer for 2-3 days and I checked occasionally and saw a bunch of crystals floating and stuck to the sides. Great and it was only my first pull!
Well... today before I went out this morning I checked the crystals by opening the lid and seeing how I am going to pour the naptha without pouring the crystals (it naturally sticks to the side so it wasn't that bad). I think I inadvertently messed up the rubber seal and part of the rubber seal of a pyrex glass baking container became submerged in the naptha. By this point all of the crystals have precipitated and crystallized.
Later that afternoon I planned on pouring the naptha out and I noticed the part of the rubber inside and submerged in the naptha. The crystals looked normal but the only thing different was the rubber part that was submerged became elongated and bigger so that when I tried to refit the seal it would not fit. None of the rubber seems to have been dissolved but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
So...
Crystals seems fine
Rubber is elongated and bigger
Went ahead and poured the naptha out and let the crystals out to dry
Is this batch no good? Or did I save it in time to prevent any rubber from degrading into the solution?
If it's no good, is there way I can purify the crystals so I don't have to waste it? Or is this a lesson learned and into the trash? Do I throw out the naptha too?
Thank you!
I really didn't expect my first time ever doing a tek going this smoothly and of course this shit happens...
Sorry let me clarify
+0:00 - Went and opened the lid, see crystals floating around and went ahead and closed the lid
+4:00 - Prepared to seperate the naptha from the crystals and noticed rubber seal in naptha elongated and some of the crystals stuck to it. Went ahead and poured out the naptha and let the crystals dry.
+5:00 - Became worried that maybe the rubber might have contaminated the pull
