This morning, as I was finishing dreaming, I knew that I was dreaming yet I was aware that I was laying in bed all the same. Normally if I were to open my eyes, the dream would come to an immediate halt. In this case they kind of just opened half way, and I could see a ghostly 3D bicycle tumbling through the space of my bedroom as clear as day. Although bikes had nothing to do with the dream I was having, yesterday my brother told me he was going to the bike shop, so perhaps that influenced things in some way. Perhaps the dream was about to take a turn that included bicycles. Who knows.
As many of you know, I don't tend to think that DMT is necessarily connected to the dream state. This bicycle hologram was pretty DMT'ish, but I still don't know what to think. An interesting difference between the dream state and the DMT state is that typically, when I open my eyes after dreaming, that's pretty much the end of that. Maybe some residual odd thoughts, but that's about it. The visuals come to a sharp close other than the typical entopic phosphene hallucinations that are typically present when waking up, or getting high or something of the like. When I open my eyes on DMT, the world becomes overlaid as a stable thing in this world. It's interesting to know what change must happen in the brain when coming out of a dream that opening ones eyes immediately cancels out the experience where the same doesn't hold true for DMT.
