Rising Star
Hi everyone, this is my first post here. So a bit of an introduction and experience post in one I guess.
I’m fairly inexperienced with high dose psychedelics in general, and very new to DMT. In my youth I’d dabbled with psilocybin mushrooms and LSD a little bit, then for the next 3 decades other than occasional cannabis use, nothing at all except for alcohol. I became interested in psilocybin about a year ago from a mental health perspective and experimented with microdosing and low-macro dosing (1g-1.5g) and found that very beneficial. And then I found out about DMT. lol.
Well, about 2 months ago I started experimenting with low dose DMT once or twice a week. Just 5mg at a time. Maybe 2-3 pulls of 5mg spread over the period of an hour type of thing. It’s been amazing from a mental health perspective. Almost immediately I noticed my racing thoughts were quieter and anxiety and depression was virtually non existent. Even in the presence of significant external stress. My ability to handle the situation and remain present but not overwhelmed is just light years better.
I recently began dipping my toes a little deeper into the DMT waters to see what it’s like. I’ve been vaporizing DMT freebase in the Yocan Orbit vaporizer. Up until now, 5mg produced a significant body load, a noticeable calming of the mind and some altered thoughts and sensory effects, but very little visual effects.
I recently however decided to try 14mg, that I did in two back to back pulls off the vaporizer….
Holy shit! The ramp up was instant and super intense. I closed my eyes and laid back as I was exhaling and immediately saw some crazy geometric patterns moving towards me, they were intricate and multicoloured and were accompanied by a really weird and loud sound. It’s hard to explain, but it sounded “mechanical” very high frequency but it had a certain rhythm and feel to it. Kind of like the mechanical sound of a snake slithering (?). At least that how I perceived it as sounding, and it seemed like the geometric patterns I was seeing were snaking towards me. I knew I hadn’t fully broken through, but I could tell that I was very close, I then suddenly felt panic. I felt like I was dying. In fact I felt pretty sure that I actually was. I opened my eyes and could see really intense tracers coming off my arms when I moved them around and I was having a hard time orienting myself to my surroundings. And the sound of the traffic outside was very strange. After a vehicle passed by, the silence in between vehicles sounded *extra* silent and everything seemed unusually still, in a very weird and difficult to explain way. I was unable to tell how much time was passing and so the length of time between the cars passing by felt extremely long. Even though it was probably just seconds. The ceiling was undulating and morphing into different patterns in this organic/ rhythmic movement. I was beginning to be able to see through the ceiling into the space “behind it.” As the ceiling was moving and shifting, it was becoming translucent. As if it was starting to dissolve, and I was beginning to see what was on the other side of reality. Since my sense of time was non-existent, I began to feel like this all had been going on far longer than it should, I couldn’t tell how long, but certainly a really long time (maybe hours?) and I began thinking I must have broken my brain and was now going to be stuck in this DMT-hallucinatory state indefinitely. Maybe forever. Eventually, after what seemed like a really long time, I began returning to normal consciousness, the ceiling began to solidify again, the tracers began to stop, and I noticed that although the tracers stopped, my arm looked like it was drawn into a cartoon… then it quickly became my non-cartoon arm again.. and then, finally, I was back to normal.
I checked the time on my phone and a grand total of just 7 minutes had passed since inhaling the 14mg.
The experience stunned me to say the least. I hadn’t “broken-through” but it was the most intense psychedelic experience of my life to date. And it gave me an even healthier respect for this amazing molecule.
